Disappointing Experience – Twice

We visited this restaurant for dinner and unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. From the start, our server mishandled the bruschetta — several pieces fell onto the table, and instead of replacing them, she casually picked them up and put them back on the serving board, offering only a half-hearted apology. Shortly after, she broke a glass near our table, sending shards everywhere. We had to lift our feet for nearly five minutes as she swept up the mess, which significantly disrupted our meal.

The spinach dip we ordered tasted awful, and we couldn’t eat it. When we informed our server, she responded with a simple, indifferent "oh" and moved on. Despite this rocky experience, we decided to give the restaurant another try the following day, hoping it was just an off night.

Sadly, the second visit was no better. It took nearly 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and another 10 just to receive our drinks. My soup was completely forgotten, and the Reuben sandwich my husband ordered came with only two thin strips of pastrami – hardly what you’d expect. We ended up going to the bar to pay since our server never returned to our table. When we explained our issues to the bartender, she questioned why we hadn’t told our server — we had to point out that we never had the opportunity, as she simply didn’t come back.

All in all, both visits were extremely disappointing. The food quality was poor, and the service was even worse. We won’t...

Not what I expected at all.

Being inside a motel masquerading as a hotel under the brand Travelodge, I didn't expect much from Hennessy's. See my Travelodge review to see why it was also not as expected.

It was their 1st birthday, so the place was packed, but the front of house staff were attentive and checked in to let us know how long we'd have to wait a few times. The decor is classic old school Irish/British pub feeling and has an incredible view of the river as one of their walls is entirely made up of windows. Couple that with the outdoor patio, and you always have a chance to see the water while you eat. We had several cocktails throughout the meal which were pretty standard, but tasty. I had the braised short rib which was so incredibly tender that I didn't even need a knife. As it sat on a bed of garlic mashed and topped with crunchy onions, it ended up providing great contrast in textures and the flavour was explosive.

My wife had the fish and chips with the large fillet impressing both of us. The fish, not the batter, was slightly overdone by about a minute or two, but having the batter crispy and golden brown, mad the dish overall quite a classic.

Finally, it seemed like all the servers, not just ours were very attentive to the customers and regularly checked in on the meal and drinks making sure they were good. This place certainly shattered my expectations of the food found in places...

I am going to give my overall experience a 3.5. Simply because my family, friends, and I had horrible table service.

We were seated and we ordered our drinks and waited probably 25mins before we received our drink order. We decided we better put in two appetizers. We received our appetizers probably an an hour and fifteen minutes after arriving at the restaurant (4:30). It was not too busy, and our waitress was nowhere to be seen, We were out of water the whole time., we were sitting there with no service at all from our waitress.

We put in our main order, but we had to ask another waitress to get our server. It was just very poor service. I worked as a server for many years, I am extremely understanding for this reason. I want to reiterate that the food was absolutely amazing and 11/10.The chef has amazing skills and all of our dishes were simply gourmet.

I ordered the steak with garlic mash potatoes and it was absolutely amazing. However, I was not given a steak knife and my waitress did not check on us after delivering our dishes (she did come ask us if we wanted dessert ). My friend ordered a glass of red wine with her supper and she did not receive it. Just small things like that make for a...

Wow, what a great hidden gem!!! This restaurant was filled with locals on a Sunday night, and it's easy to see why: the food is phenomenal! For starters, the spinach "Spin Dip" with fried naan dippers was creamy and delicious, and the baked cheese topping and hot cast iron skillet for serving was a great touch. Entrees were also delicious. The Pork Belly tacos had a sweet glaze, and along with the shredded apple topping, they had a "Polynesian" feel to them. My wife lived in Montreal for a study abroad and she said the poutine here was the best she'd ever had! Her fettuccine alfredo was also great, and she liked that there were mushrooms and onions included that gave it extra texture and flavor. The garlic bread that came with the dish was to die for! The cocktail menu was also rather large and the three drinks we tried were great: raspberry bourbon smash, passion fruit mule, and peach iced tea.

Incredible food! Exciting menu choices. Great value for quality and portion size! We have eaten here 3 times. Just moved to Miramichi. While there are a few standouts, food here surpasses them all. I ordered birrias. Slow-cooked beef quesadillas, hard to find outside of Mexico or LA. Perfectly cooked and served with au jus, the best coleslaw on earth and a side (really great sides). My husband orders their club sandwich (the evening version, with rustic toast. (Lunch version is in a wrap.) unlike normal clubs, this is stacked with roasted chicken and a mayo/aioli that is perfect and tastes house made. Their veggies (carrots and broccoli and skillet sautéed with garlic and spices. Incredible flavour and perfectly cooked, not over or under cooked! They have the sweetest and most accommodating wait staff who are proud of the food quality and fans of the food.
