Call it 3 1/2 stars. Been a long time customer (My parents used to get pizza from these guys when I was a teen... I'm 40'ish now) The good: Pizza was ready on time Pizza was cooked perfectly and not burnt (properly well done as requested) Ingredient quality excellent (as always) Crust quality... Well, you guys are hard to beat on this one Service at the counter could have been better, but they were busy. (I get it) I was still in and out quick.
The not-so-good: We were told we could get extra thick crust (party size) It wasn't. Toppings were pretty shy (especially when you order dbl cheese, it's pretty noticeable) It looked like single cheese to be honest. Quality for price was lacking. I could have got a whole lot more for the same $37 if I ordered "average" pizza... But I chose Amadios and paid the premium for a reason. I got average.
I don't know if this was a one-off mess up or maybe they reduced the topping size since the last time we ordered. (I was away for about a year) I have admittedly ordered many, many times and had zero issues with quality or quantity. I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea... Quality wise, these guys do a GREAT, FRESH product and it's worthy of the accolades they have earned over the years. My issue is more that we didn't get what we paid for. (or maybe we did and the topping portions have shrunk?) My guests and I were really looking forward to a great pizza. Even one of my friends (Who had never had Amadios, but I assured him he was in for a treat as he is a die hard PzaPza fan) remarked that the toppings were pretty skimpy for the price. We felt a bit ripped-off and disappointed......
Read moreI have been enjoying Amadio’s pizza since Joe opened in the 90’s. It has always been my favourite pizza because of its true unique recipe. I was always grateful that Joe never sold out or changed a thing like many other independent pizza places. People can say what they want about his attitude but he always stayed true to his way of making pizza which I respect. Joe took pride in solid work ethics and didn’t tolerate laziness. When something works perfect…… don’t change a thing. When Joe closed I thought it was the end of one of the greatest independent pizza places I’ve ever been to. I was excited to see Amadio’s reopened with a new owner. I have to say I was skeptical wondering if it would still be the same amazing pizza. I made my usual order of a Canadian pizza and I can say the pizza is exactly the same. I’m so happy the new owner has stayed true to this beautiful independent pizza restaurant. I’m looking forward to enjoying the same great pizza for a long time……. People like what they like. And for me Amadio’s is...
Read moreUpon reading a bunch of very positive reviews, my boyfriend and I were excited to try this place. We ordered a large pizza, garlic bread, chicken fingers and garlic and plum sauces. The pizza was mediocre at best and it did not taste like it was stone baked at all. The chicken strips were horrendous and after biting into one, you were able to tell that these were sitting in the freezer for quite some time. The little packets of plum sauce were the same little packets of plum sauce that you get when ordering Chinese food. The garlic bread was a lightly toasted ciabatta bun, with some garlic butter and cheese on top. All in all, after reading the positive reviews, we were expecting a little bit more from a place that is very vocal and boastful about the awards they have received over time. We were dismally disappointed in the quality of food which we received. Food seemed rush, not properly prepared and like it was coming off a conveyor belt. Not sure how this place received so many good...
