Chinese Express Takeout — Restaurant in Mississauga

Again great food no question a definite contender for #1 Chinese take out location... the owners are so friendly and food so great ... explore the menu and try something different you will be satisfied...I've been every time… they treat you like family always going the extra mile need the food “extra spicy” no problem have a certain veg you would like more of no problem… I keep trying different items off the menu… never disappointed !! You will never be disappointed ordering from this family run business portions are generous and your taste buds will thank you !! Plus the price is so reasonable… so next time you have a craving for something different or just need some great Chinese food give this place a call …trust me you will be satisfied…. Enjoy …. Foot note just read a review from some person gave them 1 first I’ve been a customer for 8yrs the hot and sour soup is amazing I crave it and order it every time never once was any sauce “water down” nor has any dish been coated in salt …this person’s review is extremely questionable and his motives for the bad review questionable… definitely nothing to do with the quality, freshness, friendliness of owners…. like I’ve expressed in my review top notch all the way…. and I’ve tried many other places and this one is my only stop for...

We have often ordered from Chinese Express over the years and always liked it. Food was always good and service was always fast and friendly. Service is still good, but this time we were terribly disappointed in the food. I believe much of the change has to do with the after-effects of Covid and how price increases have affected the food service industry. Both the egg rolls and the spring roll that we ordered were only filled with cabbage nothing else. The pepper steak with rice (instead of noodles) #98 was very unpleasant. There was fat on the beef which had been over-tenderized that left the beef mushy, a few pieces of zucchini and onion with very little sauce that was much too thick. While they advertise, "No MSG in our food", there was certainly too much salt or another tenderizer as my mouth felt quite puckered and my tongue was swollen after eating just a couple of bites. Sadly, we had to throw most of it away.. Unfortunately, we will not be able to patronize Chinese Express again...

At a friend's recommendation, we decided to try this restaurant for take-out last night. We have despaired of being able to find good Chinese food in the Lorne Park neighbourhood. This, however, turner out to be the worst we have ever encountered. Though generous in portion size, that is the only positive thing we can say. The food is tasteless! The Hot and Sour soup resembles brown dishwater with floating tofu. TaiDopVoi, though plentiful with vegetables , was completely lacking in any flavour whatsoever. We scoured the cupboard at home for some hoisin sauce to try to liven it up a bit. To compound the bad experience we had to resort to our GPS to find the place because the Staff "forgot" to turn on the illuminated sign, rendering the restaurant almost unfindable amidst the other shops.
