Went there a few days ago and ordered a 4 piece Sauced and Tossed chicken strip basket. Travelled home (maybe a 10 minute drive at most) and the strips barely had any sauce on them (but they sure charge you more for sauced and tossed), the fries and tenders were stone cold and the fries were rubbery like if you were to reheat fries in a microwave (I can speak to that because I have reheated fries in the microwave before). Like it felt like they pulled them out of a refrigerator; that's how cold they were. Went there again today to give them another chance (maybe the last time was just an off day), but it was even more cold (seriously didn't think it could be colder than the last time) and the cashier put a lid on my blizzard which I didn't ask her to do. The blizzard was made immediately, but not given to me until the tenders were ready. I tried to pull the lid off the blizzard in the car (literally just outside their door), but couldn't because just slightly lifting it made the blizzard leak down the cup. If I had opened it completely it probably would have erupted like a volcano making a mess in the car. It sure did that in the house. It was more runny than soup. Also ordered a plain cheeseburger (meaning no ketchup or mustard) and the cashier asked if I wanted the patty since it was plain. Like duh, I want the patty. I don't want just the bun and cheese. Especially not when they charge $4.00 for the cheeseburger. Before this location opened, I used to go to the Brampton location and even the Dixie and Dundas location (both locations are about a half hour to 45 minute drive back to my house) and the food was still hot (not warm, but hot). I was so happy when they announced that the Queen Street one was opening as a grill and chill because there was finally a grill one close enough to my house, but I will never enter that location again. I'd rather drive further and get hot food, then drive closer to get food that feels like it came out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEdit: my husband and I decided to try this Dairy Queen one more time. He went in and got our ice cream; a blizzard for myself and again a cone for him. Unfortunately we had an even worse experience! He told me that the temperature inside the restaurant was even warmer than the previous time. When he brought the ice cream out he gave me mine, and by the time he got into his side of the vehicle his cone was dripping. We now carry a cloth so that he doesn't get his shirt dirty and we didn't even get a chance to get the cloth on when he had drips of running ice cream all over his shirt! He was so angry that he opened his car window and threw his ice cream cone on the cement. I had to go home with him with him screaming the entire way!!! Needless to say, it was such a bad experience we will never go back to this Dairy Queen! We now do take that drive all the way to Brampton to go to the old one we always went to when we lived there! Old Review: We recently moved to this area from Brampton. We've gone to this Dairy Queen a couple of times and were a bit disappointed in that they keep their ice cream mix too soft (not hard enough) thereby making the treats messier to eat because they melt too fast. The flavors are still good, but they melt too fast. My husband always gets the dipped cone and it always drips on him before he can eat it. He is also disappointed that they don't have the chocolate and vanilla twist icecream, which is his favorite. And, he had told me that everytime he goes in, the service is very slow even when there is nobody else waiting. Is there a manager? We love Dairy Queen, but I think it may be worth the drive to Brampton to get it. I really don't like giving these kind of reviews, but I had to say...

ICE CREAM & TREATS: I still crave DQ from time to timeāit brings back comforting childhood memories. The Blizzards are thick and creamy, just how I remember them, and they donāt skimp on the mix-ins. The dipped cones? Still a classic favorite. Whether itās a sundae or a Blizzard, the taste is always satisfying.
SERVICE: The service is fast, but honestly, a bit mechanical. Probably because of the non-stop flow of customers. The server didnāt really have time to smile or engage, which was a bit of a letdown. A touch of friendliness could make a difference.
AMBIANCE: The place is clean and well-lit, but when groups of customers stay to chat or banter loudly, the noise really bounces off the walls. It can get a bit overwhelming. I actually checked the sound levels on my iPhoneāthey were pretty high. Some acoustic treatment could help make the space more comfortable for everyone.
HISTORY: Itās nice to know about the history of DQ, which is posted on their wall.
PARKING: Located on a corner, this DQ has its own parking lot, which is super convenient. But past midnight, it can get packed, so expect a bit of a wait for a spot.
Final thought: āWhen the world sleeps, DQ Streetsville stays awakeāserving scoops of nostalgia one cone at a time.ā
