Set in the heart of Canada, in Toronto and really close to airport is our very own Mumbai's famous Chat franchise "Kailash parbat", so just in case, after you land and become really home sick, I just found a place, a home for your taste buds.
Being a chaat specialist and boasting about it's variety for chat, the place has a lot to offer.
The ambience of the place is elegant and fine dining type. It gives you a comforting feeling when you step into their realms. So cutting the long story short and jumping to the food items I tried, which are must try from my end:-
KP chat platter:- this in simple words is a "Must try" at this location. A gigantic plate filled with iconic chat items such as, bhel puri, dahi wada, sev puri, corn puri; you will feel overwhelmed looking at the size of the platter, the yummilicious colors are surely gonna mumble your tummy and water your mouth. Made indian style the chaat is medium spicy, but if you want to level up you can surely let the servers know.
Masala Thumbs up:- this is just a personal favourite, for the love of thumbs up(only after ginger ale❤️). I love my soft drinks hard(oh and btw, KP has a liquor license and a beautiful bar, sooooo there is something on the menu that also says "Sharabi lassi" ;) ). Coming back to masala thumbs up, its nothing extraordinary, simple thumbs up spiked up with cumin seeds you can try it or give it a miss too.
Paneer chilly dry:- i would say a good attempt, they almost got the flavours right the presentation of the starter was also tempting, but, the blocks of paneer half cooked and chewy. Could have been better! Do give it a try, everyday is not the same, i just hope the paneer might be as tender as your chicken on that day.😆
Szchewan fried rice:- I am only happy for the fact that it was a proper fried rice, not the puffy rice tossed in spices and food coloring, and with the quality of rice they used to prepare. For me they didn't get it right, more importantly being an avid chinese cuisine lover, be it authentic or indian style, I can say they messed up their Szchewan sauce, which didnt really lift the flavour of the rice.
Diwani handi and butter roti:- this combination was good enough, flavours were good, gravy was thick and medium spicy. The paneer problem was persistent, overall it was a good meal, not great.
Pav bhaji and chole bature:- these two items would be the prime attraction, unfortunately, due to my demon like hunger obsessed friends I couldn't click the picture. But, take my word on it. it's mind blowing, and amazing. You will surely love the delight.
Overall, food experience was amazing, but the big turn off was the customer service, wherein the server actually dumped the containers and asked us to fill our take away bags. Cold food can be tolerated, tasteless food can be tolerated, but if the customer service is not right, that place becomes shallow for me,
still considering it as a one of experience I'm rating...
Read moreOne of the best and most authentic North Indian vegetarian places. We had the following items chat papdi, garlic naan, panner paratha, Chole batura and panner labadar!! Every single item was so flavorful and tasty. The service was outstanding and every item was delivered in quick time even though the restaurant was so busy and full. I couldn’t take pics of other items since we were very hungry 😃. Coming to each individual item: Chat papdi - though called as medium spicy on the bill it was slightly on the spicy side but the ingredients were so fresh and tasty. Garlic naan was so soft and had a very good amount of minced garlic. Panner paratha was so soft, was served with yogurt, aachar and pickled onions. It was so soft and filling was wonderful. Panner labadar was so creamy with loads of panner though the serving bowl looked small the portion is really good for 2 to 3 naans. Chole batura was served with two huge batura and Chole was well cooked and tasty. This place was on my list to go for quite sometime and will surely comeback to try their other items. I am eagerly waiting for them to open the Erin mills location. Kudos to the chefs, serving team and management for running an authentic North Indian veggie restaurant. Although sides were slightly on the higher price point I wouldn’t bother about it just because of the tasty food that’s being served and service they offer!! Forgot to mention one more item we tried which was Sweet corn soup, after a long search around all of GTA I could say this has been the best vegetarian version of a sweet corn soup which...
Read moreIt was a long due... I was planning to go there since 2016 but something happened every time. So I chose new year to have brunch at this place. We reached there at 2:30 pm and they were in a hurry and kept saying give your order as early as possible and one girl said give your order before 3:30 because we'll be close by 3:30 ... as if we would take 1 hour to decide what we want. And later we kept noticing that people were coming after 3:30 as well. I don't know what they meant 3:30 was closing when they said that to me. Anyways we ordered Tikka chaat, Paneer ke Sholay, Diwani Haandi and bitter naan...I didn't liked Tikka chaat, Paneer ke Sholay... they were the worst. The way they are creative by giving names to the dishes is fabulous ... but it would be great if they could get creative half of it by the time they cook these items!
I've had better Tikka Chaat in GTA and seriously the Paneer Tikka as they say Paneer ke Sholay was really yuck.
The place is definitely not clean. The staff doesn't care about customers. When they served Tikka Chaat we didn't got any plates... later a staff member gave us plates. The time of our main course the plates which we got was seriously dirty and was having dust... we were able to see it clearly. After finishing our meal we kept waiting for 20 minutes to get our bill.
I'm not sure that I'll go there again in future.
Thank god that I didn't chose this place for my birthday otherwise they've had definitely ruined my day!
I'm shocked how people like...
