I ordered a hotwheels design cake from them yesterday for my son's birthday and was schedule to pick up today for the house party. Today when I saw that weather is going to be bad due to heavy snow storm starting today following Sunday by tomorrow evening. We invited 3 friends coming from kitchener Orangeville and stoneycreek. Due to weather conditions our friends were so uncertain to attend. I was supposed to pick up cake at 1pm today and I called store today morning around 11am to ask my options if we can cancel the cake as we are in plan to postpone the party to some other day next week. But the lady who was very generous to me on phone told me that it is a customized cake so hard to cancel but she sounds with a clear intention to help me out. I unwillingly said ok and I will pick. I went there around 2pm and I got a call from them when I was parking my car that they have 1 customer who wants the same hotwheel cake. I went inside store and they happily work on my request to cancel my order and even refunded my full money with no question ask. I was so surprised with their so excellent and best service. I was very much embarrassed about my act but I offered them that they can get my address and phone number and next week whenever we plan, we will get cake from them. I remember that we were ordering their cakes when they were near midway location so many years back but I visited this location first time since they moved here. I have no words to say thanks to these 2 wonderful young sisters at front desk. They had a very clear intention of helping their clients in their best way possible. I would extend my gratitude to them and kudos to A1 cake and pastry owners for having such great service and great employees working for them. Still their are great businesses like A1 cake and pastries existing in the market who can go to any level to satisfy the carvings and mentalities of their clients. Food quality I already aware that they are best in town. Well disciplined, timely punctual, well versed in communication, above level in maintaining cleanliness and work ethic standards. 10 star ratings for every thing overall. Very bad experience. Your service was not up to standard at all. I had placed an order for a cake on April 25th 2014 which was to be picked up on April 26th 2014 at 2 p.m. When I got there the cake was not ready, After a wait of 45 minutes I asked the lady at the front, how long it would take, she front said that one cake was baking and mine would be next. But five minutes later she came out with the cake. I would like to know how a cake could bake in 5 minutes and have icing done. And speaking of the icing i did not like the icing on the cake at all. If you'll are professionals than i am sorry to say the icing was very poorly done. And talking about the cake it was a very big disappoint. The cake was a bigger disappoint because a fresh cake would be soft but this cake was probably a week old. I have to throw the whole cake out. My little boy was so disappointed on seeing the cake that he refused to eat it saying it looks old. If a child can distinguish an old cake how come your baker did not. Is this the kind of service you give your customers? Please don't do this to any other customer. I for sure am not coming back ever again to your place. And I have told all my friends also not to order from you. And on top of everything 45 mintue wait for an order that was placed 24...

Extremely unprofessional. Very unclean, employee's do not wash their hands and use their hands directly. Pretend to wear hairnets but do not really wear them.

Very rude behaviour towards customers. My sister stood in line for 30 mins because she had a question about placing a cake order, Rajinder was extremely rude. Made up false prices because she wanted my sister to leave. Kept taking other customers and ignoring my sister. When my sister asked to speak to the owner Rajinder said she will come out of the back in 5 mins, 15 mins later no one came. Rajinder then said the owner would be in after 3 pm. This was clearly because the employees wanted my sister to leave and not speak to the owner.

It's very upsetting to be treated this way even after you have been customer for over 2 years. I urge all my Punjabi brothers and sisters to go to another cake and pastries shop where your time is valued. There are several locations in the GTA that provide the same egg less, nut free cakes as this location. Other locations are extremely more hygienic and value...
