I'll give 3 star for the variety sweets and quality of the sweets. Its overall a great stop to get regional Bengali sweets from India. We have also tried their Ghee which is really of good quality. Most sweets seemed fresh enough to try and gift to others. I can give a 4 star for overall good services and free sample tasting of sweets here.
But 1-2 (ONE to TWO) STAR for the Food section. We went for a quick bite during lunch time on a Friday. Ordered Faluda kulfi, Chaat papri and a Fish curry with rice pulow and lacha paratha. Chaat papri was mixed with yoghurt, blend tamarind chutney, spicy chhole curry and some garnishing of sev+cilantro. Fish curry was made from Bengali delicacy fish Hilsha. Faluda kulfi had ita typical ingredients with some addition of Rasgulla in it.
Fish curry had for some reason very strong Horseradish taste which was new for me. It was agreeable when tride with rice, but still very strong taste of horseradish. The most disappointing rather sad part was bad fish meat. It is understandable not to get a fresh Hilsha fish 14k km away from its natural habitat but serving a fish that has gone bad is a NO NO! and deserve no sympathy in my eyes. I had to stop after 3-4 bites when I reached the center gone bad part of the fish stake. THINK HUNDRED TIMES before trying out exotic Fish curries at this place.
Chaat papri was not as per our expectations when compared with other restaurants. However it might be agreeable to others. In the chaat mix, the papri and tamarind chutney was not enough so we had to request little extra top ups of paapri and tamarind chutney. It still dont balance the tase though.
We couldn't finish either Chaat papri or Fish curry and had to return empty stomach with off mood and after taste of Horseradish just after 3-4 bites. HORRIBLE experience for food section. Faluda kulfi was good and nothing wrong with it. It had a good balance of milk, ice cream and other toppings.
If i can get a reply from this restaurant for Fish quality and an effort for an improvement I might give another try for main course food here to change my opinion. But so far for now, thats what I had...
Read morePremium Sweets in Mississauga offers a delightful blend of flavors and an inviting atmosphere that is sure to make any visit memorable. The restaurant is well-decorated, with elegant furnishings and a tasteful aesthetic that provides a warm and welcoming ambiance. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a visually appealing environment that sets the stage for an enjoyable dining experience.
The service at Premium Sweets is commendable. The staff is attentive, friendly, and eager to ensure that your dining experience is pleasant. They are knowledgeable about the menu and are more than willing to offer recommendations based on your preferences. This level of service certainly adds to the overall positive experience at the restaurant.
However, it is worth noting that the food can be on the pricier side. While the quality and presentation of the dishes are generally good, some items may not justify the higher price tag. For instance, the chotpoti, a popular street food dish, was a bit of a letdown. It was too sour for my taste, which overshadowed the other flavors that are usually associated with this dish.
On the other hand, the sweets at Premium Sweets are nothing short of exceptional. The variety and quality of the desserts are impressive, and each sweet treat is crafted with care. Whether you're indulging in traditional sweets or exploring new flavors, the dessert offerings are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Overall, the ambiance at Premium Sweets is fantastic, making it a great place for both casual and special occasions. Despite the higher prices and the occasional dish that may not meet expectations, the combination of good service, beautiful decor, and delightful sweets makes Premium Sweets a restaurant worth visiting in Mississauga. If you're a fan of well-crafted desserts and appreciate a nicely decorated setting, this is definitely a place...
Read morePremium is always our go to place for Bengali sweets & other food. This is one of the best restaurant for Indian / Bengali food in GTA. I found them consistent when it comes to maintaining quality / taste of food.
However, this review (score) is applicable only for their Ramadan buffet that we tried today evening.
Food: overall taste was ok. Buffet offered few new items. But I was disappointed with the taste of Adi Chicken Biriyani and Tehari. Very dry and tasteless compare to usual taste when ordered from Ala carte menu. We struggled to find chicken in the Adi Chicken Biriyani. Halim was tasty but cold. Paratha was difficult to break. Dumpling was tasteless as well. Same goes for Piaju & Beguni. We liked tempura, beef potato chop. Finger kebab items were good. Buffet included decent desert items. However, major disappointment was not having any curry items (Beef Kala Bhuna, or Chicken bhuna). Good to have water & drinks. Could have been better to have lassi in the menu instead of lemon water.
Organization: Buffet should have a refill process after a regular interval. We couldn’t find Adi Chicken / Tehari at 7.20 pm when people not even started to break their fast. Later they refilled in small quantities. Not a large crowd was attending, still it seems Premium was not ready to manage them.
Ambiance: liked it. Dine in place is clean, well renovated and bright.
Service: as always their employees were customer friendly and ready to help.
Price: $39 for adult is ok but $29 for child seems little expensive. They may study the market for any price modification.
I am sure they will learn from their loyal customers feedback and market pulse. Next time they should focus on buffet menu & availability of food instead of # of items in the menu list.
Premium is a flagship Bengali restaurant. I want them to maintain that position....
