Review of Milan Mississauga - Indian Street Food Visited: December 8, 2024 Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)

Nestled in the heart of Mississauga, Milan Indian Street Food offers an authentic slice of India’s bustling culinary scene, and my recent visit proved to be nothing short of spectacular. This is not just a restaurant; it’s a vibrant tapestry of flavors, aromas, and experiences that will transport any diner to the colorful streets of Mumbai, Delhi, or Ahmedabad.

Ambiance The ambiance struck a perfect balance between contemporary and traditional. The decor was lively and inviting, with bright colors and street-inspired artwork creating an immersive environment. From the moment I walked in, I felt as though I had been whisked away to an upscale yet authentic Indian street food stall. The upbeat music and warm lighting added a welcoming charm that set the tone for the feast ahead.

Food and Flavor Explosion The star of my visit was undoubtedly the food, a true testament to the restaurant’s mastery of Indian street cuisine. Here's what I indulged in:

Vada Pav: This quintessential Mumbai snack was a marvel. The pillowy soft pav encased a perfectly spiced potato fritter, served with tangy chutneys that added a kick of heat and tang. It was a nostalgic bite, true to its street food roots. Dabeli: A Kutch delicacy, the Dabeli was impeccably done. The filling was a luscious mix of sweet, spicy, and tangy, adorned with crunchy peanuts and pomegranate seeds, offering a delightful textural contrast. Pav Bhaji: A rich, buttery blend of mashed vegetables served with toasted pav, this dish was a showstopper. The bhaji was robust in flavor with a hint of smokiness, and the pav was perfectly crisp on the edges yet soft inside. It was comfort food at its finest. Samosa Chaat: A burst of flavors in every bite, this dish combined crispy samosa chunks with tangy yogurt, spicy chutneys, and a sprinkle of sev. It was a riot of flavors and textures that kept me coming back for more. Mango Lassi: To wash it all down, I sipped on a creamy and refreshing mango lassi. The balance of sweetness and the natural tanginess of the mango made it the ideal companion to the rich, spicy dishes. Value for Money Milan delivers exceptional value for money, offering high-quality street food without cutting corners. Each dish was generously portioned and prepared with evident care and authenticity. For the depth of flavors and the vibrant experience it offers, this restaurant stands out as a must-visit.

Overall Experience The service was quick and efficient, with staff who were friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure a great dining experience. Milan Indian Street Food is more than a meal; it’s a journey through India’s street food culture, a celebration of spices and flavors that dance on the palate.

I wholeheartedly recommend Milan to anyone seeking an authentic and flavorful dive into Indian street food, right in Mississauga. This gem has set a high bar for quality, ambiance, and value, earning its well-deserved...

When on my trip to Canada I had the pleasure of trying their vada paav, misal paav Mumbai masala sandwich and the tea, and I must say, this place offers some of the most authentic and delicious Indian street food you could find. The Vada paav was good, with a perfect balance of spicy and savory flavours. The green chutney and brown chutney , in particular, stood out for its traditional taste crafted with a water-based foundation It brought a real depth to the dish.

The Misal paav was good and impressive, offering a variety of flavors and textures. The farsan and rassa added a delightful taste, while the paav, combined with the softness of the misal, absorbed spices beautifully, creating a rich and satisfying experience with every bite. Sandwich was delicious and authentic with lots of healthy stuffing. Located conveniently within a plaza, the restaurant’s setting makes it easily accessible and adds to its charm. What further enhances the experience is the swift service. The food arrived warm and fresh, and the efficiency with which it was served was truly impressive. It is also kids friendly.

I asked for Mango falooda and they didn’t have it so the person on the counter simply said they don’t have any mango drinks. Later we saw they served mango lassi to different customer. They could have said instead of falooda we have lassi . I could have gone for that. Also didn’t explain about sandwiches what is double layer or single layer. I would recommend to the reception to offer other options as well to customers for better business.

I’m eager to return and explore more of their menu options, as everything we saw being prepared looked equally enticing. This is definitely a spot worth visiting again for anyone craving authentic Indian...

While visiting family in Toronto, my nephew took me to Milan, an authentic Indian street food spot, and it exceeded all my expectations! We started with Kashmiri Chai, which was fragrant and perfectly warming. It set a great tone for the meal, and then the real magic began with the food. Samosa Chaat: This dish was an explosion of flavors! The crispy samosas were topped with tangy chutneys, creamy yogurt, and crunchy sev. The sweet and spicy chutneys balanced the textures perfectly, making each bite a delight. It tasted incredibly authentic, just like the street food back in India. Dahi Batata Puri: This dish was a refreshing treat. The crispy puris were filled with spiced potatoes, cooling yogurt, and a mix of sweet and spicy chutneys. The balance of flavors was spot on—cool, tangy, and spicy all at once. It was seriously enjoyable, and I could easily have had more! Sev Batata Puri: The highlight of the meal! The puris were loaded with a combination of potatoes, crunchy sev, chutneys, and spices, offering the perfect crunch with every bite. It was so delicious that we ended up ordering a second round. The flavors were bold and the textures just right—this dish truly stood out. Milan offers an authentic street food experience in the heart of Mississaugga, with every dish packed with flavor. If you're craving Indian street food, I highly recommend visiting Milan. The food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent, and I’ll definitely be returning on future visits!
