This is my new number 1 spot for Chicken Shawarma. I’ve moved around a lot from North York/Scarborough to Kitchener/Waterloo and tried various spots for Shawarma. The food presentation here is absolutely beautiful compared to anywhere else I’ve seen and it tastes just as good as it looks! The ingredients and quality is top notch/fresh. The chicken is not dry at all and you get huge portions. The meal size you get all 3 items which is rice, garlic potatoes and salad. I liked the Fattoush salad and they add these crispy Pita chips that add nice texture to the salad(very tasty). Pita chips only come with the Fattoush salad so you might need to ask for it separately on other salads(unsure if there is extra charge). The garlic potatoes are also amazing! Never tried this style before but it’s a must try. Rice is rice but done well and not dry. Make sure to ask for pickled turnip and pickles(extra charges may apply if it’s not the house salad chosen!) The sauces are also tasty and the spicy sauce is actually spicy! Gives you a little sweat but very flavourful!
Definitely WORTH the price here for the quantity and quality you get.
5 stars due to their customer service and food quantity/quality! We had a little miscommunication with my first order but they contacted me directly through IG and corrected it for my next order! Small little corrections like this is what keeps a lasting customer, which I am now.
Can’t wait to return and try all the other menu items. 🙂
Finally tried their wrap after two years from my original post lol. Jam packed with chicken and veggies. Definitely...
Read moreI know I said ghadir was the best shawarma place in the country but Shawarnado is legitimately the best in terms of flavour and creativity.
They make your order exactly how you want it but they add their own little unique touches along the way like throwing the right sauce on each part of the plate with fresh garnishes like corn and parsley and this little crunchy stuff. Not sure if it’s garlic or onions but a very nice touch.
The shawarma wraps are solid. Not the best in the west end but top 2-3. But the plates omg I’m aroused just thinking about it.
The plates come in two sizes. The larger one is $16. There was more meat than rice. All the veggies are super fresh. And I’m pretty sure all the sauces are made in house. When I got the plate for lunch I hit it very hard. When you first open it the freshness and just the way it looks is so good you can’t resist just killing it. I ate so much so fast that I got full pretty quick. And I barely put a dent in it.
Went home and hit it again pretty hard without even heating it up because it was still so good. Wife took a very big chunk of it onto a next plate heated it up a bit and smashed it with the kids. I hit it another couple times before it was all gone. All that for $16.
The people that work there are very nice and are very gifted.
It’s not a five star restaurant but it’s not dirty like the other reviews say.
Very good food. I honestly have no clue how subway and any other food establishments within walking distance to this place survives. This is an extremely high quality product for a...
Read moreIn preparation for a long day of shopping, we stopped by this place to fuel up. Part of the visit was to see what all the rave reviews were about, and part was to offer my buddy a chance to try something unique before heading back home. I have to admit, I absolutely love this spot and wish it was closer to my home in North York. I was genuinely surprised by the quality and quantity they deliver while still keeping things budget-friendly. Although the server warned us that the Mix Shawarma Meal might be too large for the three of us (one being an elder), I was skeptical thanks to today’s shrinkflation and went for it anyway. The result? We only managed to finish 2/3 of it. We paired it with a Fatoush salad and opted for Tahini, Garlic, and Spicy Garlic sauces. The flavors were incredible. The meats were perfectly marinated and juicy, with the sauces adding just the right amount of kick and depth. I still can’t fully figure out the secret behind those sauces, but they were amazing nonetheless. And let me talk about the rice. The fragrance and subtle use of spices were enough to make me drool the whole way through. While it is more subtle and balanced compared to my ultimate favorite, Adel’s in NYC, this place delivers incredible balance and flavor in every bite. I can’t believe it took me this long to try this place, but I’m so glad I finally did. I’m already looking forward to returning and trying more of the menu, but first, let me finish the...
