Souvlaki Hut Clarkson — Restaurant in Mississauga

I frequently do take out from this location. As far as fast food goes, it's pretty good. They advertise themselves as being open and ready for lunch and yet I find they rarely are. Today I stopped in there at 12:15, more than an hour past their advertised opening time of 11:00 am. Staff did not seem ready to take my order. I ordered two full dinners which is a significant purchase; I noticed that prices have gone up but realize that is typical in these days of the pandemic. When I returned to pick up my food I was told that I would not be receiving honey sticks which are included in the combos I ordered and instead they would give me more pita. There was no apology nor was I informed of this when I placed the order. I was told that the batter was not ready for the honey sticks. They must have been aware of this when I placed the order and yet nothing was said. I didn't want extra pita and I resent paying full price when I did not receive all that was advertised as being included. I probably would have ordered differently if I had known this at the outset. The food is tasty but the quality of customer service is really lacking. Additionally, they had music playing loudly so it was difficult to understand what staff were saying and I had to ask them to repeat themselves. This is frustrating at the best of times. Disappointing, and the quality has droppen off. There have been at least 3 different ownerships that I've ate at this location under. Previously, things had been great, and then quite decent. The recent is now at a point where things have fallen off, and is either at a point of not being able to survive, or simply not caring. There was once a sign up that used to say 'we apologize for the wait, as we make everything made to order' ... that sign is now gone. Instead, you get gyros meat re-heated from a warmer/slow cooker. However, today I was charged a different price than what was on the menu. I questioned it to the girl working there, who I realized was just a regular employee -- she seemed embarassed for her having to respond that the owner had changed the prices, but had not yet got the updated sign. In this case, should I not be charged what is on the board until it is updated? Knowing that she wasn't the reason for it, I just asked she relay the concern to their owner. Meat was ok. You could taste it being dried out, but I guess at this point, that shouldn't be a surprise going forward.

Edit: 4 months later. Some prices have been adjusted. Decided to get something that wasn't one of the most popular orders. Price? $1 more expensive on the till, vs what is on the menu. Is this even legal? Walked out, after seeing that. No reason to give business to an owner that doesn't care about...

I did a specialty order, requested 6 chicken souvlaki dinners packaged in a way to serve buffet style back home. Everything in it’s on large serve tray. I was so incredibly impressed with how the food was packed, prepared and given to me. I had help to load in my van. At home the food stayed warm in my oven for two full hours. And was the perfect temperature in my oven left on warm. The food was AMAZING! The chicken as moist, flavourful and great portions. The potatoes were soft and tangy. Delicious. The rice was cooked well. Almost too much rice. The salad came to me with everything on the side. This allowed people to make their own side, Greek salad without having soggy lettuce. The salad came with the dressing, the feta cheese, and the Kalamata olives on the side. Also included with my meal was pita warmed up. They were cut into quarters and reheated beautifully in my oven. Lastly, they gave us these things called honey sticks, which I think is honestly just leftover pita. they are deep-fried, and then tossed in some sort of honey glaze and boy, were they delicious. We love the food. Our kids loved the food I had lots left over, but in a good way. everyone was full and I’m looking forward to my leftovers. Thanks again I would definitely recommend ordering...
