This was a mixed bag for me. We ordered a small party tray for New Year's Eve. Sushi, maki and sashimi. I called the order in much earlier in the day with a time for pick up. It was a bit annoying that when i got there, it was not ready. I waited over 20 minutes for them to get it together. The worst part was that they didn't even offer an apology for this. They just kept telling me "soon it will be ready." Uh ok...

The quality of the sushi we got was very good though, thankfully. It was very fresh, and prepared very well! Unfortunately the pieces were a bit small, as was the tray in general. It was also fairly expensive for what we got. (~$55/50pcs).

I know that sushi is expensive in general, but I'm having a hard time finding a store that replicates the quality and quantity I was used to at the other stores I used to frequent in my old neighborhood.

Here is the tray. Great presentation, and very tasty, but on...

We ordered the Chirashi and Sushi C via SkipTheDishes. It was one of the worst sushi meals we've had.

The fish was old and seemed like it had not been properly defrosted. The tuna was inedible and fishy. Most of the other fish was mushy. The salmon was somewhat decent.

The sushi chef doesn't seem to know what they're doing. The fish wasn't sliced the right way (a wide flat piece that was mostly skin and other oddities) and had not been properly descaled.

The chirashi had a pitiful amount of rice -- there was more of the shredded radish and beet than rice. It was like they'd made a sashimi dish and then added a bit of rice.

To top it off: the presentation was terrible. It was thrown into the styrofoam containers with no thought to how it looked.

All around low quality...

(Update) It has been 2-3 years and we have regularly ordered sushi from here every couple months or so and have never been disappointed. Quality and service have been highly consistent. Some of our favourites are: spicy tuna maki (or Maki C set), poke bowl, spicy sashimi salad. We also love snacking on their taro chips. This place has been hit by misfortune (robbery, broken glass door, etc.) yet the staff/owners are always pleasant. We simply love this place and do our best to support this local business as best we can.

Thrilled to have found this place! Our go-to for sushi takeout recently closed and to our huge relief, this place is even better. Quality and taste are top notch, customer service spectacular. We always order extra for leftovers...

Grabbed some takeout from that sushi spot on Lakeshore. Figured I'd eat it over at the park. I got the Black Fire roll—had spicy salmon, shrimp tempura, and a bunch of other stuff with torched eel on top. The flavours were all there, tasted good. No issues on that front. But trying to actually eat it was a different story. The whole thing was kinda falling apart by the time I sat down. The slices were all over the place, some thick, some thin. Had to sort of piece it back together. Look, it seems like it might be a one-man show in there, so I get it. It's decent for what it is, but yeah. It's alright.

Well that was the worst experience I’ve had in terms of « poke bowl » and « sushi pizza ». The poke bowl came with an astronomous amount of lettuce, probably to save costs … Oh also no sauce at all. Usually those places put some spicy mayonnaise or other type of sauce. This one gave nothing. And the sushi pizza, what to say .. For 16$ it was ridiculously small. Came to this place as a tourist with good attitude because of the good reviews and left with a very disappointing feeling. Do not go to this place for poke bowl / sushi pizza. To be avoided
