Alomda Lounge — Restaurant in Mississauga

I often eat Egyptian and Iraqi food, and was excited to try this spot after moving to the area. I don’t often leave reviews, but I was just so disappointed in the quality of the food.

The pickled veg tasted very off and old, the garlic sauce barely tasted garlicky and had a strange consistency that made me also question the freshness. The rice wasn’t a great flavour either, but the grilled beef and chicken were great.

I’m someone who never likes to waste food, and I ended up having to throw out the leftovers because I couldn’t finish these dishes.

This is my absolute go-to spot for shisha and get-togethers with my friends. The staff has always been so sweet and accommodating. The place has plenty of seating, and I love their top floor (the one in the photo). They had a performer playing oud and singing which I hope they continue to host in the future as it offered a beautiful Arab ambiance. I recently started coming here to study and it’s a great spot for getting some work done on weekdays. Opening night was not a great start. Over 2 hours waiting for food and shisha to come out. Dishes wrong and missing. Shisha sent out with no coals. Staff working tirelessly it seems running up and down the stairs with food to other customers upstairs. Our waitress Paula was very sweet and apologetic. Hope this restraunt has a stronger come back because this was not a great start. The one dish we did get, albeit wrong, was quite good- chicken had lots of flavor and the fries were really good but missing the garlic sauce and condiments.
