I highly recommend trying the Ashley Goat Cheese—an edible ash-coated Brie-style cheese that’s nothing short of divine. It’s luxuriously creamy, perfectly balanced, and always the star of my wine and cheese gatherings. Pair it with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc, and you’ve got a match made in heaven!
Walking into Lakeview Cheese Galore feels like stepping into an adult version of a candy store—but for cheese lovers! The selection is phenomenal, and every visit is a delicious adventure.
The real charm, though, comes from its owner, Gurth Pretty—a renowned cheese connoisseur, judge, and all-around wonderful person. He makes every visit special by suggesting new cheeses I might not have discovered on my own. Thanks to him, my cheese knowledge keeps growing, and I leave the shop both educated and incredibly happy.
Beyond cheese, they also offer an incredible range of artisanal jams, honey, and charcuterie essentials—everything you need to create a show-stopping charcuterie board. Their commitment to showcasing Canadian cheeses makes me appreciate local flavors even more. If you’re a cheese enthusiast or just someone looking to elevate your next gathering, Lakeview Cheese Galore is a must-visit!...

The Vache Rosse parmesan is fantastic and if they have cheese curds in stock, snap up one because they go quick.
The service is top notch too. I've gone in a few times looking for something to make a dish and the suggestions have been stellar. They know their products inside and out. It can be busy at times but they always make sure that you're completely helped before moving onto the next customer.
Some of my favs here: Backed by Bees (raw honey and cinnamon honey) Gunn's Hill cheese curds Sprucewood Bakery lemon zest and double chocolate shortbread cookies Spirit Tree sparkling apple cider (non-alcoholic) Vache Rosse parmesan (get some when they crack open a wheel and never bother with that shelved stuff at the grocery store again)
They also do tasting events with Stonehooker Brewing next door. You can do it over Zoom or in person. If beer isn't your thing, they have a port wine/cheese tasting coming up on Wednesday April 13th.
If you've been wanting to shop local and buy more Canadian made products, this is the...

More fresh cheese curds and my favourite blue...and a couple of cheddars...and the Wildwood Appalachian Gurth and Rob are still a great help! After my 3rd visit in 2 weeks I must say how fortunate to live so near to LCG. The owner, Gurth I think, and Rob are quite helpful and knowledgable. The products they suggest are always wonderful. Wildwood, the wonderful blue(s), parmesan and just now some fresh curd for poutine! Too much...
