Updated review: Their website hasn't been working properly in weeks, you try to place an order and the payment can't go through, you call them and/or tell them in person and they don't understand or pretend not to understand you, just tell you that other people also complained, but they don't offer to honor their website prices when ordering in person. Like Pozole being priced at $9.99 each.
When trying to redeem existing points towards an order the server doesn't know how to do it, had to ask other people.
Another thing, their breakfast menu has one price, and the regular menu has a different price (chilaquiles for example), so you order from the breakfast one cause it includes the coffee but then they charge you from the regular menu.
All of these experiences makes me think either they do not train their staff properly or they let their staff act this way to get away with charging you more, yet they still try to get you to order from their website to get their promotions.
I've been wanting to support this restaurant as I do like their food, love having real Mexican food in the area and I want to support women owned businesses but you need to fix your website and train your staff on your promotions. Authentic Mexican food finally comes to Clarkson.
I am so happy Tita's has opened in our neighbourhood, I had been to their Etobicoke location a couple of years ago and I loved their food, I was really excited when I saw they were opening here.
The place looks really nice, clean and spacious, the server was very friendly, I'm sorry I didn't catch his name.
We shared the refried beans which are very flavourful on their own, they taste just like home for me and reminded me of my mom's homemade beans 😊 I just wish the serving was a bit more.
I had the Green Enchiladas with chicken, I loved the combination of the slightly sour green sauce and the sweet chicken tinga filling, it balances it out nicely, even better if you add their smokey Chipotle sauce on top. I am usually not a big fan of chicken tinga but this one had lots of flavor.
My husband had the Pozole and it was also really good, only thing missing was the tostadas.
At the end we had a Pan de Muerto which was also very flavourful, I only wished they had warm it up a bit before serving it to make it even better. Still, you could taste the orange zest and it was not too heavy, perfect for this season.
The horchata was also great, served chilled and just the right amount of sweetness, while you could still smell the cinnamon.
I'm looking forward to coming back very often and keep exploring their menu, I am very happy to have the true flavours of my country so close to my home.
I do hope you offer...

Review:
My dining adventure at Tita’s Mexican Food was a journey of highs and lows, featuring some standout dishes alongside areas where there's room for improvement.
Birria Bowl: The Birria Bowl was a highlight of my meal. The meat was tender, flavorful, and shredded to perfection, pairing beautifully with the soft tortillas provided. Each bite was a testament to the care and authenticity put into traditional Mexican cooking. This dish alone merits a return visit, earning a well-deserved five stars.
Enchiladas de Mole with Chicken: Unfortunately, the enchiladas de Mole with chicken were a disappointment for me. Despite looking forward to this dish, both the flavor and the textures fell significantly short of my expectations. The combination of ingredients and the Mole sauce, which traditionally boasts a rich tapestry of flavors ranging from sweet to spicy, did not harmonize as I had hoped. The overall execution lacked the depth and balance I was looking for, leaving me to not enjoy this dish at all. This was surprising, particularly because the other aspects of my meal had set a promising stage.
Churro Bites: While delicious, the churro bites fell short in terms of accompaniments. The sauce containers were notably small, insufficient for the 15 bites provided. A recommendation for the restaurant would be to consider offering at least three containers of sauce to ensure each bite can be fully enjoyed.
Customer Service: Before placing my order, I reached out to the restaurant seeking recommendations, hoping to gain insight into their menu based on the glowing Google reviews I had seen. Unfortunately, the guidance I received was unclear, leading to a less than ideal ordering experience. This aspect was particularly disappointing and something I hope Tita’s Mexican Food can improve upon for future diners.
Overall Experience: My visit to Tita’s Mexican Food was a mixed bag. While the dishes themselves were mostly enjoyable, with the Birria Bowl standing out as a must-try, aspects like customer service and the churro sauce portions left room for improvement. My overall rating reflects these experiences, and I believe with some adjustments, Tita’s could truly live up to the high expectations set by its...
Read moreI really wish I could give zero stars and that I had read the reviews on this place before I ordered. I have been vegan for 6 years now and I got excited to see so many vegan options on the menu! This place is not far from my house so my boyfriend and I decided to have a nice takeout night. We both ordered the Mexican meal his with meat and mine with the vegan chorizo and the vegan birria, I also noted that I would like a side of the VEGAN birria consomè. When the food arrived immediately we noticed that the refried beans and rice that came with both our meals were missing (which is half the meal, and part of the reason why I ordered this particular meal!)
We decided to just forget about it and enjoy the tacos, very quickly I realized that they did not give me any of the vegan birria as there was not a mushroom in sight and it was only the vegan chorizo, again I decided to just eat my food and move on. I ate 3 tacos, all of which I dipped into the consomè /poured the consomè on, then my boyfriend (not vegan) decided to try the consomè with his spoon and to my horror there were bits of stringy meat hanging off. I immediately felt ill and stopped eating, now I am not entirely sure if my chorizo was meat free or of there may have been cross contamination with meat. Not to mention none of the containers were labeled at all and it was a struggle to decipher what was vegan and what wasn’t. If you are going to advertise your vegan options especially in a place that also serves meat you should be taking EXTREME care to make sure that your guests are getting what they ask for. On top of all this both my boyfriend and I found everything extremely lacking in flavour and overall mediocre. I had also ordered guac and chips that I did not end up eating because it was brown and tasted like pure lemon juice, this also seems to be a common theme after taking a look at some of their other reviews. Honestly avoid this place especially if you are looking for vegan options, I wouldn’t trust a single thing...
