I don't know who to give a 2-star to; Watan Kabob or SkipTheDishes

SkipTheDishes didn't deliver all the items we got. We contacted SkipTheDishes, and the representative kept disconnecting from the chat and no one was willing to listen to our issue. We eventually got a hold of someone and they worked out a solution for our order.

I called Watan Kabob upon only receiving 3/4 of our meals. I understand traffic at the restaurant can be busy, but when a SkipTheDishes, or delivery driver comes to pick up orders, be specific and hand the appropriate bags. When I called Watan Kabob to tell them I didn't receive two meals, they said "oh, yes, I'm looking at the order right now, the bag is sitting right here, the driver forgot." I was even more frustrated when the server at Watan Kabob told me the only way for me to get the remainder of my families meal was to drive to the store and pick it up myself. What the is point of ordering SkipTheDishes? What if I didn't have a car? What if I lived far from Watan Kabob? This is honestly disappointing and ridiculous. I ended up driving and was given two cold meals with a small strofoam container as a "freebie" for having to come all the way.

To top off all these issues, all the food we received was presented in such a horrible way. The driver or the servers certainly did not handle the bags properly, everything was presented in a garbage way and we did not enjoy our meal.

This is very disheartening and disappointing. We have been active visitors at Watan Kabob since it opened here in Mississauga and likely will not return soon due to the lack of service, organization, and presentation.

Also, side not not related to my order, it is COVID-19, in Mississauga dine-in should not be a thing, why were there people sitting and eating? Do you guys not believe in COVID or what? And the amount of people inside the store was way too many. For such a small place there should be a max of 10 people in front of the counter as visitors, dine-in should not be open, encouraged, or accessible.

Overall, not a satisfied customer at all. And I am not writing this to get a response saying "oh, we are so sorry, let us offer you a free meal," I don't need a free meal. I need you as a business to get your act together and use this review as a wake up call so things like this don't happen again because if they continue you will lose...

Wanted a bit of change for our weekend lunch and decided to give this location a try. With ads on doors about new veggie options. Ordered two bolanis (stuffed bread with potatoes and some greens - basically like a Indian stuffed paratha) and veggie Mantoo (dumplings with veggies) topped with lentils and some naans.

The staff are super nice. Asked them questions on what things were made of and they knew stuff right away and made changes. The Mantoos are topped with yogurt and requested if they can do that in side. They did. No eggs or milk in any other products. The naans are brushed with milk prior to baking and requested they hold off. They did. So just like that everything became vegan. So this place is not only veggie friendly but vegan friend well!

The naans are so good. A slight crunch on the outside and soft and airy inside topped with tons of black and white sesame seeds. The bulani is perfect with potatoes and tasted amazing. The mayo based dip the kids enjoyed with bulani. The mantoos grew on us. The lentils on the top, perfectly cooked, very mildly spiced. I had some lentils with naans and it was so good. The stuffing inside the mantoos is OK. Personally would have preferred some more spice in it, the Mrs loved it. We all agreed the the it was also a bit on the greasy side.

Overall, we loved it and loved that the staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. Wish they had more choices. Will try the eggplant dish...

I visited Watan Kabob - Matheson few days back for takeout and I was very disappointed with the food and service. I ordered the fish kabob platter, which was supposed to come with rice, salad, and naan bread. However, when I received my order, I realized that they had given me beef kabob instead of fish. i not eat to beef, so I immediately went to the counter to ask for a replacement. The staff at the counter was very unprofessional and rude. They refused to acknowledge their mistake and blamed me for not specifying my order clearly. Moreover the order was repeated while taking by the server herself at counter then also served BEEF, First reaction was that I should be grateful for what I got. They did not offer me any apology. In last the reaction was may be it’s by mistake we will replace the same. I felt insulted and humiliated by their attitude. I left the restaurant with take-out and wasted my money and time.

I would not recommend Watan Kabob - Matheson to anyone who is looking for a good Afghan cuisine experience. The food is fresh, the portions are Good But the staff is disrespectful. There are many other better options in the area that serve authentic and delicious kabobs. Watan Kabob - Matheson needs to improve their customer service...
