I’ve been coming here for a couple of yrs now. Service can be slow but food is tasty so I don’t mind waiting.
What drove me to write this review today and only give 3 stars is that my experience when trying to reduce waste has been very inconsistent and frankly frustrating at times. See, they use styrofoam for their to go orders, which is non recyclable and lasts for many years in the landfill. I understand I can’t go changing every business owner practices, but I can do my part, so bring my own container or ask them to use a paper bag instead, during COVID times.
Today was the second time I had to walk out without my tasty breakfast because the person serving refused to just eye the amount they will normally put in the container. She insisted she had to use a styrofoam container just to measure and then dispose it. Which defeat the whole purpose!
I get it they has to be measure control, but we are not dealing with controlled medication here. She should know about how many scoops can fit in the container. They’ve done this for me today before and honestly I wish they had a better way of taking care of the planet.
They missed out in today’s sale to me and posible futures ones at least...
Read moreWalking in here at 0630 on one of the coldest mornings that I can remember, I was greated to the warming sounds of Colombian salsa. It was almost as comforting as awaking from a sweet sleep as a child to your mother's voice. My nose and eyes were quickly drawn to the bright and beautiful colours of the freshly baked and fried foods. From the coffee to the varried puffs filled with mouth watering meats and cassava. This bakery is more than just that. It's a small portal in Mississauga that instantly transports you to a tropical climate surrounded by tasty foods and lovely owners. I can't wait to come back for more. This is my first of many experiences here! You would regret not coming in to become a part of this little gems' future here as a soon to be staple in the GTA's fastest growing and urban/suburban areas. It's only been around for about 1.5 years but by taste and service alone, I'm sure I'll be back here in 10 years to remind me of how good things...
Read moreI normally go to Columbus Bakery because it has more variety than a lot of other Colombian/Latino stores however lately I have not been pleased with the service/offerings. I noticed something weird this time and it must be noted publicly. The cashier said my total was $74.99 and that is how much I paid but when I asked for a detailed receipt, the total only came up to $72.99. I noticed from the previous customer that she had opened up the register and taken out what seemed to be some change and put it in the tip jar. Seems that they are doing this to everyone without even giving the customers notice. I only bought the already made hot food, not like I ordered any food that would require a tip. I was also not informed that I needed to tip them. Of course tips should always be welcomed but not forced upon the customer without ANY prior notification. I attached my receipts as proof here of what happened to me and what might be happening to others...
