I want to preface this review with the following: my husband and I were looking to have a memorable, and simple experience to celebrate our first wedding anniversary together before heading home to continue with our many renovations. Our afternoon meal at Delhi6 left my husband speechless (that says A LOT), and my tastebuds completely satisfied.
We got to share an incredible meal provided by wonderful staff, the owner was considerate and inviting, and shared his story with us from purchasing the old Morton Pub through to renovating and importing his decor. The only, and I do mean ONLY concern we had was that we don't know how to re-order the items that we had eaten in future visits! :D
For those of you who are interested in more specifics: We had a robot sing to us; we had a tour of the space and decor (much of a history lesson) by the owner as we walked through the door, which included a viewing of the "live kitchen" where we watched the chefs prepare a version of naan (unleavened flatbread, layered and topped with spices +); we ate a delicious chicken dish as a started suggested by our host - the most tender meat with a coat of spices (not hot, but expertly flavored!!) and charred, with a yogurt sauce on the side. Our host was considerate to check in after his suggestion (A+), and he was sure to ask for our heat preferences prior to.
The physical menu is well designed and crafted, clearly money was spent to create this traditional and stylish venue! The menu offers information for vegetarian, vegan, gluten sensitive, heat sensitive, nut allergies, and more, so that you are cared for while dining in house.
Our meal was explained as a "symbol of love", our host had described the story of the Taj, built for the Indian Queen by her King, where she laid to rest, and he by her side. The dish was named after her, and it tasted like love, if I can be so bold to say! (I wish I could confirm the name of the dish, you'll have to try them all when you visit). There was a sort of creamy dish with meats, spices and served warm (hot), served with a pepper/tomato based curry - lightly sweet, mild heat, a ton of flavor and a balanced acidity - perfect! I want to call it a chutney - the small yogurt dish served cold with spices to refresh the pallet, and another small liquid dish to again balance the pallet with a lovely vinegar and onion mixture. ON TOP OF THAT DELICIOUSNESS, we had one of the stuffed naan breads, baked to perfection in the tandoor oven, perfectly chewy and crisp and packed with flavor (to dip into all of that goodness listed above 15 years experience waiting food and drink. I find it SO refreshing to have been treated this warmly post-pandemic. Thumbs WAY up! Our future anniversaries are going to have a hard time topping this experience

Summary: The restaurant presents a promising concept but fell short of expectations.
Experience and Ambiance: Upon visiting for a buffet on a Thursday, we discovered buffets are only available on weekends. Despite this initial setback, our excitement remained high. The establishment boasts a fancy and well-executed decor, creating an upscale ambiance. However, even though they have a nice looking bar setup, the lack of a liquor license was noticeable, and the menus appeared hastily printed and laminated, featuring inconsistent fonts and colors, which detracted from the overall sophistication.
Pricing and Portions: The food is reasonably priced, but the portion sizes are disappointingly small. For instance, the "Thali" (food platter), advertised as shareable, was barely sufficient for one person.
Service: Service was a weak point. Each query to our server, regarding menu items or portion sizes, required them to shout across the room for answers. This lack of direct knowledge from the staff was a notable drawback.
Food Quality: While the food was generally good, it didn’t seem tailored to an Indian palate. The butter chicken was overly sweet, bordering on inedible. There was confusion with the "Thali", where lamb was replaced with an unidentified chicken dish without explanation. Additionally, the food was not served simultaneously, with items like naan bread arriving well after we had finished our meal.
Conclusion: Despite these issues, I am open to returning in the future, hopeful for improvements. This restaurant has the makings of a fine dining destination in Moncton but needs to refine aspects like menu presentation, staff training, and accommodating customer preferences in spice levels. This could prevent unsatisfactory experiences.
Overall Spend: Approximately $200 for a party of six, including...

PS: I visited Just after their Grand Opening so you might find some adjustments later.
I was there to celebrate my friend's birthday. We wanted to try their buffet but they were not offering that time. But I am hoping they continue it in future for all timings.
Firstly, I would say the ambiance was awesome. They kept it authentic Indian atmosphere with classical music in the background. Cutlery was Indian style as well. Might need some good options for the buffet as well. The servers/ Front desk was polite and did ask for an honest review in the end. I should say they need to show more professionalism at work ( It's their beginning so I can say they will learn with time). We already had light food in the evening hence, We ordered one Dhai Bhalla as a starter and One Vegetarian Thali as the Main Course.
Dhai-Bhalla was good can add some more garnishing ( Onions, Papdi) Lady at the front desk said some people might not like but I wanna say you should give the option in the menu if that's the case!!
Thali: Quantity was Awesome. The presentation was superb. Taste was medium. We had Shai Paneer, Dal Makhni, veggies: Bhindi, Raita, one Gulab Jamun, Pickle, Papad, Salad, rice, 1 Nan. Shahi paneer was too sweet for me; looks like Panner was added later in Curry and was not coated properly. Dal Makni was smelled a little obsolete. Bhindi was good, the Rice was okay, Naan -bread was a little hard. I can say overall it was not worth the price.
I tried their Mojito drink it was good can improve more.
Desserts: We asked for their Brownie ( Name: Death in Chocolate I might spelled it wrong) it was out of stock!
All in All, the food was good but a little pricy for what they were serving. I am hoping they will improve more in future as it was just their...
