Yanakee Sushi&BBQ — Restaurant in Moncton

We just came back from this restaurant and I am really glad we went to it. Family of 3, ate like kings. Quality, from service to food was exceptional, some of the best I've ever seen. Now let's take a look at the food, sorry for not adding any pictures put the food looked so good we couldn't wait to dig in. Shrimp tempura - came out hot, fresh and delicious. The tempura crust was a perfect golden color, crunchy texture, the batter had a bit of sweetness to it which added a lot to the flavor. Simply delicious, 5/5 would recommend to anyone. Dumplings - the ratio of meat to other ingredients in the fill was amazing, perfect crunch, golden color, cooked to perfection, incredible taste. Came with a sweet and spicy sauce next to it with the zsmallest spoon I've seen to spread the sauce over the dumpling. The taste was simply wonderful. - 5/5 Assorted sashimi - this might be different every time you get it since it's the chefs choice but at the same time you can be sure it is going to be FRESH. We got salmon, tuna and tilapia. Each and every piece melts in your mouth, the taste was wonderful, simple and effective! 5/5 Eel sashimi - eel came grilled with a bit of sauce on top, a very flavorful fish with aot of fat, loved every bite of it 5/5 Takoyaki - some of the best that I've had in a long time, texture was wonderful, the only thing that I think could be improved is bigger pieces of octopus in the Takoyaki, but other than that it was delicious! 4/5 1+1 fried salmon roll + yap (I think) - this was probably the most interesting dish that we had. Plesently surprised with the nuance of flavors and the effect that pairing a very fat filled, explosion of flavour roll with a very delicate one can have over your whole meal, simply delicious and a genius idea for that pairing. 5/5

Places where the restaurant could improve: Maybe add a plum sake, that would be quite interesting and I know the flavour is delicious and could go well with a lot of the stuff that they have. Instead of selling bottled or canned limonade, it would be amazing if you could make it fresh, in house.

As an overall experience, I would love to give them more than 5 stars because they damn well deserve it in full. The staff is extremely friendly, the food quality is miles above more expensive and renowned restaurants (yes, even Osaka Hibachi, specially since their quality has taken a deep dive it I the murcky waters of the chocolate River). I really wish this restaurant gets the recognition...

We are regulars on the weekend here. The waitress even knows our order when we walk in to order take out. Tonight I wanted to share this wonderfulness with a friend. We dined in ( first for me too) The food wasn't that great not like the times before this with our take out every weekend. when paying the waitress cash she kept my amount i was to recieve back. No offer for it nothing, I was in shock as kept it and turned to my friend for payment. She was very umattentive and she seemed very confused. When myself and friends food arrived we were shocked it all came on one plate . They seemed more concerned in banter and laughs in the kitchen. No offer for anything after taking our order and giving us out food. I had to get up and ask for utensils. No offer of water. This was NOT the usual waitress that is usually there. I unfortunately may find a new weekly place. So...

Yanakee Sushi in Elmwood offers a fantastic dining experience, with top-notch quality across most of their dishes. Their sushi is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, making it a standout. The variety on the menu is impressive, and everything from appetizers to specialty rolls is delicious and satisfying. The only downside is the ramen—while the broth and toppings are decent, the noodles taste like they came from a grocery store packet, which is a bit of a letdown. That said, considering the affordable pricing, it makes sense.

The restaurant itself is lovely, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The servers are attentive and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant experience. If you’re looking for great sushi and a warm environment, Yanakee Sushi is definitely worth a visit, just manage expectations...
