During my recent dining experience at East Side Mario’s, I had the distinct pleasure of being served by Erica F., whose professionalism, attentiveness, and warmth elevated what could have been a routine meal into an exceptional dining experience that stood out for all the right reasons. From the moment I arrived, Erica’s demeanor conveyed a genuine sense of hospitality; she greeted me with a bright, welcoming smile that immediately set a positive tone for the evening. Her ability to balance friendliness with professionalism was striking—she managed to engage in light, pleasant conversation while remaining acutely aware of her responsibilities to each table under her care. This balance is a quality not often found even in experienced servers, and it was clear from the outset that Erica takes great pride in her work and in representing East Side Mario’s as a brand known for its lively, family-friendly atmosphere and hearty Italian fare.
Throughout the evening, Erica’s timing remained impeccable. She was consistently present without being intrusive, ensuring that each course arrived promptly and that our table was never left cluttered or unattended. Clearing plates, refilling drinks, and checking in for feedback all occurred at natural intervals that enhanced, rather than disrupted, the flow of conversation. When our entrées arrived, she verified each order carefully, confirming accuracy and presentation before placing them in front of us. Every dish looked exactly as described, and Erica’s confidence as she presented them reinforced the impression that she works closely with the kitchen team to ensure quality and consistency. Her attention to detail extended even to small touches—offering freshly grated Parmesan cheese, extra napkins, and to-go boxes without needing to be asked—each a reflection of someone who takes pride in exceeding customer expectations
In summary, Erica F. exemplifies what every restaurant should hope to see in its front-of-house staff: a perfect blend of professionalism, product knowledge, attentiveness, and genuine human connection. She not only meets but far exceeds the expectations associated with her role, turning an ordinary dinner into a memorable and enjoyable event. Her commitment to excellence reflects positively on East Side Mario’s as an establishment, reinforcing the restaurant’s reputation for quality food and welcoming service. Guests leave not only satisfied with their meals but also appreciative of the care and attention they received. In a world where dining experiences often feel transactional or impersonal, Erica restores the sense of hospitality that transforms service into something meaningful. For that reason, I believe she deserves the highest recognition for her outstanding performance and unwavering dedication to her guests. Without question, Erica F. stands as a shining example of what makes East Side Mario’s such a beloved dining destination—a professional who embodies both the spirit of the brand and the heart of true...
Read moreMy family and I visited this restaurant last month on the 27th. We were seated at our table with menus within the first 10 minutes sitting down we were asked what drinks we would like so we ordered our drinks. We waited 25 minutes for our drinks, then my husband had asked the waitress when she brought our drinks for a glass of water and she said sure not a problem, so another 20 minutes went by and still no glass of water! So my husband waved down a different waitress than what we had and asked her for a glass of water since our waitress was too busy doing whatever she was doing, so that way just went and found our waitress and told her that we wanted water 10 minutes later he finally got his water!! Then she had asked us if we wanted to order for supper so we placed our order and we waited there an hour is still had not received our food we watched not one, not two, not three, but four.... Four families order their food get their drinks eat their meals in pay for their meals and we have still yet to receive our food yet! The waitress had no explanation for whatsoever. So I got out of my seat and found a manager and explain to her what happened I did not yell at her at all I said in a calm Collective respectful. She in turn went to the kitchen found out her food only to have our food come to the table cold my daughter's pasta was disgusting my supper was disgusting and in total our food was the most disgusting meal we have ever had at a restaurant as a family. Now the manager did comp power meal, and tried everything she could to make sure that we had left happy. But that still does not take away from the very poor staff working at this establishment! It was our first time visiting this restaurant and we were not pleased and quite very well will not return again. We were out to eat for our daughter's birthday, and expected her to have a good time when and turn should nothing but a bad time. See how disappointed your daughter is on her birthday is very upsetting as a parent.
EDIT : I have changed my rating from a 1 star to a 3 star. My family and I visited this restaurant again in hopes the second visit was better. And it was! Our waitress was amazing. Super nice, very prompt. Also made sure to check on us to be sure we were enjoying our meals. I spoke with the Manager who was on duty and told her how wonderful our meals were. This is the kind of service customers should experience every time they go out to eat at any...
Read moreThis is one of my kid's favourite place for food and we're here once every few months, typically on Tuesdays as it's 2$ kids meal, such a good deal.
This time we showed up later for dinner and was seated and served in no time at all. The service was super friendly, big smiles, light conversations and checked on us twice just at the right time. I had the Penne Pasta with a Diet pop while my son had the Spaghetti off the kid's menu with a Shirley Temple to accompany it. I think we were a little starved as we went through two mini baguette which always comes warm and free. The food was hot and tasty. The Sausage, peppers and sauce all had a little kick which I absolutely enjoy. I bit into the big pepper too, because I love heat. My son just loved the spag, he just devoured the whole thing. He said he'd probably have it again. Personally I would grade the food as a large step above generic but of course not fine dining, but my son absolutely loves it, so that is reflected in the overall review.
They have a good atmosphere, the place is clean and it makes for an overall very pleasing dining experience. It can get pretty busy and loud, such as it was then, even at 8pm on this Tuesday. That was most likely because of the cheap kids deal. It's not the ideal place for an intimate dinner, certainly more the family dining restaurant. My wife and I have been here as part of a date, but only because it's so close to Cineplex and it's a good stop for a bit of food before hitting the movie theatre. You can also collect Scene points here so another small bonus!
So all in all, it's a great family dining restaurant that we always highly enjoy. I have never had a bad experience so we keep coming time...
