The highlights - the cinastack pancakes are addictive. They're definitely more of a dessert but really yummy!
-Everyone's food was okay. It wasn't bad but it's missing flavour besides salt and sweet.
-The coffee is good and the carafe at the table is a nice touch.
The meh- our waitress was a bit overwhelmed and flustered. She got the job done but she was constantly missing something. When she was describing dessert, I was bored. It went on for so long and didn't even feel like she had tried it. It was such a fake sell when we just wanted to leave.
The kitchen forgot the bacon (extra charge) on a burger and instead of comping in, brought it out mid meal and said here. It was not eaten.
The omelette I had was bland. The only flavour was heat from raw hot peppers. While I love spicy food, this was weird. Soft omelette interjected with a crunch of raw pepper.
The splasher drink was a thumbs down from 3/4 of us. For 5$, we didn't want to waste it...but the only one who liked It was my husband - who thought it tasted like flat pop. It was like said lemonaid.
The atmosphere is starting to look sad. IHOP in Atlantic Canada is a first and its supposed to be fun but things are starting to look run down already. They have a pancake height ruler that Is torn, booths are a bit crumby, menus are feeling sticky. We weren't greeted when we walked in, it was "for four? Follow me". Little things make a big difference in atmosphere.
For 100$ for four of us, we were disappointed. It wasn't great food, it wasn't a fun experience, and the staff seem like they want to be elsewhere. It wasn't the worst spot ever but we will be going elsewhere next time we go out...
Read moreHad my first experience at IHOP Moncton today. My family was excited about getting a local IHOP after having it whenever we travel. The food, portions and prices did not disappoint. It was all very good on that end. Also despite there being a long line, we got a table relatively quickly (15 - 20 mins) when the hostess advised us it was probably a 30 - 40 minute wait.
Some areas were very disappointing however. One was, while I was using their restroom, an employee came in (you knew he was an employee because he was wearing the uniform). He came in to the washroom. Used the urinal. And walked out. He did NOT wash his hands which is disgusting in general but even more so when you work AT A RESTAURANT. I couldn’t believe this employee would do that in front of customers. At least pretend for our sakes so we’re not entirely grossed out. The second complaint was that, while our server was very friendly and quick to take our order it did take quite a while to get our food (this is forgivable given how busy it was). What was not as easily forgivable was that she clearly forgot about us when we were done. We waited nearly 20 minutes to get our bill, until we finally gave up and went and found her. When we did, she reacted like she completely forgot we existed (she did apologize). We could’ve just as easily walked out without paying a cent if we weren’t honest people and she and the restaurant wouldn’t have had any idea. All in all, I hope these hiccups are one off’s where they are new; however, the employee not washing his hands is a big no-no. I hope that gets rectified...
Read moreQuick stop here as we drive back to Ottawa from PEI. One of our kids has been obsessed with trying IHOP so we took the opportunity. We walked in and were greeted by a young man who said he had to check if there was space for us. A quick glance around the restaurant showed at least half a, dozen available 4 seaters. We were shown to a table and greeted promptly by a kind server.
When our oldest ordered the avocado toast we found they were out of avocado. After a five minute scouring of the menu she decided on the Buffalo chicken sandwich and then found out they were also out of chicken strips. The oldest, frustrated decided to just not eat. Our orders took about 30 minutes and was plunked on the table and the server scurried off before I could ask about a missing item. I tried for 5-10 minutes to catch her eye while she was on the floor but she didn't glance around at all so I gave up.
Food was as expected. When the server finally came back at the end of the meal I asked her about the missing item and she casually stated its cause they were also out of that.
Clearly there is an issue with ordering that isn't the servers fault and falls to management. But the servers should be briefed on anything missing prior to their shift and trained to dialogue with the guests about that when they come in.
The abundance of staff (three hosts at 2pm!!) appeared hardworking and kind but lacked training. My assumption is this location has a...
