Our unexpected visit to the Moncton Zoo during our family trip from Toronto, ON, to Halifax, NS, left an indelible mark on our hearts. Serendipity guided us to this captivating haven of biodiversity, recommended by the gracious hotel staff. Despite its more modest size compared to larger zoos, the Moncton Zoo enthralled us with a diverse collection of animals from around the world. The Black Panthers stole the show, earning our resounding five-star praise. Their sleek, ebony coats exuded an air of mystique that left us spellbound. With piercing gazes and graceful movements, these enigmatic creatures seemed to possess an otherworldly allure, etching an unforgettable memory in our minds. Though the zoo may not boast grandiose dimensions, its thoughtfully curated exhibits offered an intimate encounter with an array of species. Animals from different regions coexisted harmoniously, creating a unique and authentic atmosphere. Arriving early in the morning, we witnessed a tranquil scene of animals awakening to the golden hues of dawn. Some creatures still dozed, while others gracefully embraced the new day. Nature's serene awakening heightened the magic of our experience, fostering a sense of peace and wonder. For our children, the Moncton Zoo became a realm of enchantment, igniting their curiosity and kindling a passion for conservation. The zoo's educational efforts resonated deeply with them, instilling a profound appreciation for Earth's rich biodiversity. As we bid adieu to the Moncton Zoo, a sense of gratitude enveloped us. Gratitude for stumbling upon this hidden gem, gratitude for the zoo staff's dedication to animal welfare, and gratitude for the cherished memories that will forever reside in our hearts. Our brief encounter with the Moncton Zoo transcended the boundaries of a mere visit—it became an unforgettable journey that reminded us of the intricate connection between humanity and the natural world. And as we continued our expedition, we carried the essence of the zoo's beauty and wisdom, a precious gift bestowed upon us by nature's wonders.

We go to the Wild Lights display annually and it is always a magical time for the whole family. Our daughter (8) and her best friend have a blast. This year was a significant improvement from last - more lights, better maintained (last year a lot were out), and we loved the musical light display at the barn area. We were also glad to see some animals were NOT out - specifically last year the panther was out and was visibly distressed being directly across from a loud music and moving light display. We also stop for a Beaver Tail - and was pleased to see the dining area well spaced out and sanitizing wipes available to clean tables. However the lines we congested without adequate space for distancing. Also noticed a lot of dropped masks and some refuse in the walkways. Wins - Light displays, affordability, playground, food and drink options, clean bathrooms, clear marking for walking and directions, and full evening of enjoyment.

It's been years since I've been to the zoo but decided to take my kids here for an afternoon. We went in October so there were some cute pumpkin/photo ops and some interesting exhibits and enclosures. The petting zoo was fun to feed the deer and goats as well and I'm so happy they finally have it fenced in rather than letting all the animals roam free like before. All that being said, the prices here were insane. 3 adults and 2 children for $64 and to top it off, they don't even provide you a map of the grounds. We were asked if we wanted to buy a map to help with "conservation". We exited through the gift shop and the prices there were equally as wild (excuse the pun). I was also a bit disappointed none of the food vendors were opened but perhaps because it's the off-season it wasn't available. Overall it was a fun afternoon for the kids but nowhere we'll be back to anytime soon due to the cost.

The lights at the zoo were pleasantly entertaining. They guided you through all the exhibits and the light animals sometimes corresponded to what animals are in that area in the summer. At least that's what I was told by the others near me. There were other lights animals alomg the walkways such as wolves, moose, and a rhino. All very well laid out. You could also view some live animals. The Reindeer was out, and a big black cat. You could also go inside one of the buildings where we found a couple snakes, Meerkats, turtles, and two species of monkeys. All in all it was a good walk. Some of the large light animals make for great photo opportunities. The light tunnel and the decorated red barn also seemed to be popular photo opportunities.

Delightful experience! The zoo is well-organized and offers a wide variety of animals, from local wildlife to exotic species. The layout of the zoo makes it easy to navigate, with clear signage and informative displays that offer interesting facts about the animals. The zoo also has excellent facilities, including clean restrooms, a gift shop, and several spots to grab a snack or meal. There are plenty of shaded areas and benches, making it a comfortable place to spend a few hours exploring. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that some sections of the zoo could use a bit of updating, few places were really very stinky. However, overall, the experience was fantastic and enjoyable for both adults and kids.

We were totally depressed walking through this zoo. The enclosures were too small for bears, a cougar, black panthers, monkeys, and others. The bears and the cougar just paced back and forth. The bear enclosure had what looked like an electric fence. All the animals didn't even acknowledge that you were talking to them. The lions had a fairly good size enclosure but there were only 2, (lions need a pride). The tiger also had a pretty good size enclosure but alone. The monkeys all had their back to you and wouldn't even look at you. The only animals that seemed to enjoy themselves were the otters. My husband and I felt horrible walking around. Personally, this zoo should be investigated.
