Where do I even begin? As i type these words, i am still awaiting my main course, which i’ve ordered more than an hour ago. Granted, the entré delivery speed was decently fast, but the portions were underwhelming. Furthermore, our waiter barely conversed with us about the menu or anything else, barely acknowledge our existence as he spilled water all over our table. The man was alone as he waited over a dozen other tables, on what I would interpret as quite a busy night. As I’m writing this, 10 minutes after beginning this reviewing of Koh Tao, my table still sits empty of food in front of me. My boyfriend’s belly is grumbling, he grows restless. In resumé: the only fun I’ve had so far is documenting this poor experience at Koh Tao. I will let you know about the food’s mediocre-expected taste once i finally get my hands on it, if i dont have arthritis by then.
UPDATE
2 Hours after ordering, at last we received our food. Was it worth the wait you might ask? Was it heavenly at least with such a long waiting time? No. The Kung Fu Tao bowls that me and my man ordered looked rushed, barely cooked and cold. They even forgot to put the sauce in my boyfriend’s meal, and dragged it back to us a while after, once they realized their mistake. The one positive note I cab grant them for this atrocious evening was that the mocktails were delicious. We took fake cosmos and aperol and were quite satisfied. I am including down there a photo of the bowl of food that was served to me after the 2 hours wait. Do not go to this restaurant, youd be better off ordering online as they seemed to prioritize online orders over their in...
Read moreOrdered takeout. Staff was friendly, shrimp curry was good. Chicken curry soup was alright, was eating chicken pieces with my choppy chopsticks, bit by bit jolly me...."Wait, This is raw chicken" my wife said.
I spit out the chicken, took another piece out of the soup, and recognized that pinkish slimy meat that you get when your chicken is below 160°...
Called the store who assured me that all the chicken was pre-cooked (yum). But the piece of chicken in my hand said otherwise.
Went back to the store and they offered to reimburse the one plate. Cool. But Koh Tao, please note, my whole experience was kinda ruined.. getting reimbursmemt for the one plate with raw chicken is somehow not making me feel at peace with this experience.
Will not return.
Will also keep you posted in case me or anyone in my...
Read moreA group of 4 of us visited Koh Tao last Wednesday evening. We arrived on time and were given a table promptly . The restaurant was maybe 1/2 full. And then we waited. It took 1/2 hour to get our drinks, nothing fancy. They took our order and we waited over 1 hour for our next serving. One of my table guests went to the kitchen to offer some help to get our service. Other tables , came after us and were already eating before our barely warm, not so peanutty peanut butter dumplings arrived. The other dishes were warm, but hardly memorable. I do give kudos to our server ( Carl?). He was well aware our the lengthy delay, but his hands were tied by the kitchen staff lack of preparation skills. I wont...
