Table of 10. Good food. Overall not bad service Small portions, for example, the adult portion of crispy tacos was essentially the size of 4 large spring rolls, but no doubt delicious. We had to order more as they were not filling and could not have been deemed as an adult portion.
The other reviewers are correct, it is rather pricey when compared to the portion size.
In any case, we arrived with a 2 years old baby who was hungry and agitated and crying. We asked for a piece of bread so that the baby could start eating / suckling on something whilst we order for all 10 of us.
The waitress understood what we meant. She didn't assist. We asked the other, more senior, waitress. She refused point blank, stating they don't have bread and pushed a menu item on us, which we bought.
Lo and behold, when our mains arrived they did have soft very small tortillas. Clearly out of a packet. One could have been brought for the baby. This lack of empathy, I found to be particularly commercially driven.
Not to be expected at a Mexican restaurant where it is common for families to eat.
We decided not to tip, however the waitress was crossed and said "no tip". We tipped, 15% - pay the waiters better so they are not hassling customers. Tip harassment is a common feature in other reviews too. Despite the clear expectation of a tip, a piece of bread was not brought for the baby.
Poor show for a restaurant business, food did taste good hence the three stars instead of two stars.
Best part: the restaurant owner's response to other people's reviews - hilarious. Do read them for their...
Read moreTerrible Experience at Resto Bar Lolita
I recently visited Resto Bar Lolita with my family and I must say it was a complete disappointment. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that our experience would be far from enjoyable. The staff provided us with uncomfortable seating and proceeded to rudely usher us to our table, showing no regard for our comfort.
To make matters worse, they went as far as scolding my one-year-old niece for innocently touching the menu. It seemed as if they valued their menu cards more than their customers' comfort and satisfaction. Such behavior was utterly rude and ridiculous, especially considering we were dining with a young child.
Adding insult to injury, the server managed to bring us the wrong drink, further showcasing the lack of attention to detail and poor service at Resto Bar Lolita. This mistake only compounded our frustration and reinforced the negative impression we had already formed.
Overall, I would strongly discourage anyone from visiting Resto Bar Lolita based on my experience. The combination of bad seating, rude behavior towards customers, and the inability to get a simple drink order right left us with an utterly terrible experience. It's disheartening to see a place prioritize their menu over the satisfaction of...
Read moreStopped in for a quick solo lunch and was very happy with my experience - I've been driving by this place for years and was happy to finally make the opportunity happen. Friendly atmosphere and vibe, I loved the Mexican decorations. I ordered 4 chicken tacos ( I think they were called the children Lolita tacos). They were served on fresh, warm delicious corn tortillas (YUM 😋) with tasty, fresh toppings and nicely seasoned chicken. I did find the serving a tad on the small side but most probably bc this was lunch. This as a dinner plate I would expect a side of rice or something (probably the case?). I'm a small woman, not a huge eater and I polished off my plate clean so this wouldn't be enough for a bigger eater, even for lunch. The prices were what you'd expect these days; mid range ( I got this plus a Perrier, plus tax and tip it came to $37)- what you'd expect for lunch in a pleasant sit down restaurant. They were very welcoming, service was good, friendly and I was pleased to hear staff speaking Spanish to each other. All in all it was very tasty and fresh, I would go back for dinner to see what else they can serve up. I...
