My stay at this hotel was absolutely horrible thanks to the staff. Here’s what happened:
We went to Mont-Tremblant for a hockey tournament, and reservations were made at the Ax Hotel for the whole team. We also reserved a room for our team to hang out in.
When we showed up at the hotel, I was checking in and they gave me a list of rules to follow for the hockey team (no running in halls, no mini-stick hockey in hallways, etc.). Fair enough; I had my son read all the rules and agreed to them. While I was busy checking in, one of the kids from our hockey team came and asked one lady at the counter for a towel so he could go to the pool. The lady (which I will now refer to as “rude-lady”) very rudely snapped at him that he had some in his room and to go back and get one. When the kid walked away, she turned to the lady that was helping me and goes (in French) “He tried to pull one on us!”. My boyfriend heard this exchange as I was busy checking in, but otherwise I would have told rude-lady it was unnecessary to be rude; but what’s done is done, moving on.. right? No.
That same night, our kids all decided to go for a swim in the heated outside pool. Kids are kids; they got excited. A came out and explained to the kids they needed to calm down and stop jumping in the pool and throwing snowballs at each other. I completely agreed with this. The kids calmed down right away. If one jumped, we reminded them not to and they would stop. We walk back in the hotel and the manager had assigned a security guard to stare at our group through a window (even though at this point everyone was calm).
The next day, the kids wanted to go in the pool, and some of the dads decided to go with them to supervise. There was freezing rain out so the rest of us decided to go sit in the Café near the lobby that has large windows looking out at the pool; we could see our kids from here while not having to endure the cold. I bought a latte from the Café, and another mom had a glass of wine. A little later, a manager came up to us and told us that we were not allowed to stay in the café because it was reserved for café customers. There was NO ONE else there aside from 2 men playing chess that clearly had also not purchased anything. One of the moms pointed out that we were just watching the kids and the manager again told us to leave; so we did. One of the moms advised the manager she would finish her glass of wine and then would leave the café (she was sitting calmly and drawing in her sketch pad). Not even 5 minutes later, rude-lady approached her and again told her to leave.
We went in the room we had rented and stayed there for the rest of the evening. At one point we looked out the open door to the room to find the same manager standing there, arms crossed, staring at us. We were sitting around talking; no reason to “supervise” a group of adults. We were getting pretty upset with the staff at this point because of how we were treated.
That same night, the kids decided to go back into the pool with some of the dads and I walked to the window with another kid from the team just to look out for a couple of minutes to see if everything was good outside. The kids were behaving; they were having fun in the pool, some were rolling in the snow and then sliding back in the pool but no one was throwing snowballs or jumping in and out of the pool. I turn around to find 3 staff members standing at the café bar just staring at me. I almost snapped at them and had I not had a child with me, I may have lost it.
The staff was rude with us from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. There are even more incidents that happened but I have limited space for this review. Overall, they had 0 respect for anyone (adult or child) and treated us like we were the scum of the earth. We were paying customers. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone! If I could give it 0...
Read moreWe stayed here for one week Aug 21-28/ 2021!! I didn’t know what to expect but I will say right from the moment my family arrived we felt very much like we made the right choice. Front desk personal are amazing!!! Especially Penelope!!! She helped us with the reservations prior to arrival and she made us feel very much at home during our stay. The rooms are large enough for family of 4 with teenage kids. The height of the ceiling is at least 20ft!!! Well designed rooms with Nespresso each morning, fridge and microwave for when you don’t want to eat out all the time. We bought our salads and deli meats at the local Metro (grocery store) which is 2mins from hotel. Lots of shops sell wine and beer as well. The location of the hotel is 10mins drive from the main Mont Tremblant village but trust me if you want a “vacation” and “relaxation” you would stay here and drive over when you need to be at the village. I found the village to be busy!!! I like the quiet escape! Even my teen kids and hubby all agreed!!! Lots of lakes all around you so don’t miss out on beach days at Lake Breboef, Lake Saint Bernard, Lake Mont Tremblant!!! They’re all great ways to see the Laurentians!!! Now back to the hotel….. you almost NEVER have to leave the hotel. The heated outdoor pool is magnificent!!! Also comes with a cold waterfall and hot sauna!!! All extremely therapeutic!!! The location has no other buildings around so it feels very much like the pool is on top of the mountain. Not to mention they have a very nice gym for all workout buffs!! They have few happy hours by the lounge at night. Thursday night they brought in a pianist! He was fabulous!!! The lounge also serves breakfast - the usual omelettes/ quiche/ croissants/ waffles!!! A complete full breakfast order is roughly $15- they also sell cheese boards / pizzas for about $12- lots of restaurants 2mins behind the hotel. Rue Saint Jovite is the name of the street- it’s the town and has at least 1km of shops and restaurants - few grocery store/ one liquor store but you can also buy alcohol in grocery stores. Lots of shops for clothing, hairdressers etc.. all in all I would definitely come back with our family. It’s always nice when everyone in the family agrees on a place they...
Read moreI stay in hotels and travel for a living and this hotel is fantastic quality for a very reasonable price. The hotel looks fresh and inviting, it was recently renovated. Check in was very smooth and uncomplicated, their front desk staff are very professional and very courteous. The hotel sometimes has deals/packages on their website. I purchased one which included a bottle of red or white wine at check in, a gift certificate for their restaurant (which is BYOB) which is on site but a minute walk away, across the parking lot. The room was very clean and spacious, the room had a kitchenette with utensils, plates, bowls, a microwave, fridge, a Nespresso machine with some coffee pods, dish cloths, dish soap. It's a very convenient setup and it would be very easy to stay here for an extended amount of time with this little setup up. The room had a Bistro table with two chairs, a big sofa, two big beds, we also had a nice view of the heated pool which is open apparently all year round. I also really appreciated the hotels eco-friendly approach when it came to bathroom amenities. Instead of small plastic bottles they have big bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower which are refillable(the brand is called Bella Pella which is made in Canada and smelled heavenly), next to the sink they have big bottles of body lotion and hand soap. Really great concept and very similar to European hotels that I've stayed in. The hotel also has multiple Tesla charging stations. The restaurant Mad Grill Steak house was excellent. It's a very brief walk outside across the parking lot from the hotel. With the package that we had purchased, which included a bottle of wine, we brought it along with us and we had a special menu and my husband and I were not disappointed. The portions are absolutely HUGE and the food was piping hot and very tasty. The servers were very nice and efficient. I have nothing but great things to say.Overall, I was very happy with my stay and will absolutely come back and purchase another package deal from...
