My wife and I had a really poor experience on Wednesday, September 27, 2026.

We have been to Antipasto numerous times & we always enjoyed ourselves, as the food & service in the past had always been very good; however I took my wife there for a special evening out & we had the opposite experience.

We made reservations & we arrived there & the manager, who was also the host at the front door, brought us to our table right away. Then we sat there for 20 minutes and nobody even approached us for our food or drink order, even though our eventual waitress was laughing & talking with the people at the next table & she clearly saw us sitting there that whole time. I finally went & asked the manager if we could please get some wine. He said sorry & he said that unfortunately they were understaffed & he would get someone to come to our table. About 5 minutes later our waitress took our orders for both the wine & food (we didn't trust waiting another half hour for our food, so we ordered it right away. 10 minutes later, we finally got our glass of wine (a 30 to 35 minute wait). As they were serving the wine, the waitress surprisingly served the dinner too. My wife's veal in her Veal Parmesan was visibly burnt black. Both the cook & the waitress had to see that when they served it, as we both saw it right away. We didn't say anything right away, in case they just cooked the Veal Parmesan in a different manner than we had ever seen it before; but no, unfortunately it was burned to a crisp & my wife couldn't eat the veal at all. She basically only ate noodles & the sauce. She did not want to send it back, as she was worried that they would do something to her food.

Anyway, we ate very quickly, as the evening had already been ruined. When I went to pay, I told the waitress that we had been very dissatisfied with the very long wait & my wife's burnt food. She brought the manager to our table. He apologized & he took the Veal Parmesan & a wine off of the bill & asked us to please come back & give them another chance; but honestly we will not be returning to Antipasto anytime soon, after that terrible experience, which is such a shame, as we really liked that restaurant...

Our dinner at Antipasto was excellent. We were seated in a cosy dining room immediately next to the warm brick wall (part of the wood burning pizza oven?) and close to the open kitchen. First I would love to acknowledge our highly professional, gracious, friendly, accommodating and highly knowledgeable server Laurent - the man clearly being perfect at what he does, loving and doing his job. We also had a chance to talk to the very friendly Chef about the dishes we had pleasure to sample that evening. About the food. We ordered a gratinee Bruschetta and a traditional Stracciatella soup (chicken broth with egg whites and spinach) as our appetizers and Pizza al Funghi and Pasta "Nuovo Antipasto". Frankly, Bruschetta didn't wow me, it felt as though it wasn't seasoned enough and lacked a more pronounced garlic and balsamic vinegar taste. It also had some red onions in it - not the usual Bruschetta ingredient. The tomatoes weren't very flavorful, maybe due to the gratinee option that we decided to try. Stracciatella soup was a delicious and comforting appetizer after a day of skiing - exactly what I needed. The mushroom pizza was perfect - from the thin, crispy but chewy crust to the sauce and the rest of the ingredients - Oyster mushrooms, garlic, fresh tomatoes and mozzarella. The signature pasta Nuovo Antipasto was amazing - it had a very light white wine+garlic+truffle oil sauce and a lot of fresh ingredients that were sautéed and tossed with penne: cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, green onions, garlic, proscuitto. The pasta was topped with a bunch of fresh baby arugola and was as plentiful, flavorful and delicious, as it was light and not overwhelming as some traditional pasta sauces might get. The Chef himself described it as his "summer pasta" creation which we really enjoyed this winter night. The restaurant's value proposition was not to be taken for granted - the dishes were very reasonably priced, and the menu - offering plenty of choices. Antipaso Restaurant is a great dinner destination, minutes away from the Mont Tremblant Ski resort with packed restaurants, sometimes lacking a personal touch, unlike what Antipaso team was all about. Bravo...

Being a railroader, I was pleasantly surprised that this restaurant, run by the families 3rd gen, is adorned with numerous railroad pictures from the bygone era. If you, like me, are a collector of railroad artefacts, this alone is the reason for you to visit this wonderful restaurant.

However, the food and service are 5 stars as well, with skillful group managing the floor and moving so quickly that you think it's a time lapse video!

Group of 6, with reservations and special requests (vegetarian options, gluten free options and a request to write a note for a family member on a dessert we were to order - as a surprise, all of which were taken care without needing to remind once).

Ordered 2 each of the bruschetta gratinee au Parmesan et mozzarella and chevre-chaud. Got quickly cleared up the hungry group. I was slightly biased towards the chevre-chaud but the family were overwhelmingly in favor of the bruschetta with melted cheese.

Main course included 4 pastas - chicken Alfredo, nuovo Romanoff, al legumi and Benny pasta. Also got the chicken parmigiana and alla vitello. Probably the best chicken parm, and the veal would compete with the best of the lot for the succulent meat and the accompanying red wine sauce. The 4 plates of pasta - when I finally moved away from the veal, was only plates, so that should say how good the pastas were. Probably the best off the 4 was the nuovo Romanoff (do note, all our pastas were w/o pork or beef).

Dessert - ordered the double espresso with canoli's, tartufo and the chocolate cake slice.

Overall 5 stars for everything and more you'd expect at a restaurant.

A MUST visit if you are in...
