I often go chill at my friend's place and we always order out, so with this place being right across the street from his house I was naturally curious.
The food should earn this place three or four stars. The steak hoagies are on par with those from other places I've tried and the all-dressed pizzas are great, too.
They made a mistake on my order once, though. I ordered the all-meat poutine but instead got a regular one and we were the only customers so why the mix up?
Can't say much for the stark decor as the place looks a little run down and any attempt at engaging the owner in some friendly banter, even if it's not rush hour, will have him respond standoffishly as if he's always too busy to establish rapport with his customers.
He even freaked out this one time over a dime, I kid thee not. One of our orders came to $20.10 and we only had a $20.00 bill. He fretted for a bit as if he was being shortchanged and made my friend swear on his honor that he'd pay it off when he came by next time.
Dude, it's only ten cents and most normal people wouldn't sweat it. My friend lives right across the street and he eats there occasionally, so why so melodramatic?
Their lunch specials are no bargain, either. I ordered a sub but got only the 7" while the poster shows a full sized 14" sub.
My friend knows of other places were the food's just as good or better, the prices are cheaper and the service is way better (cough Pizza Express cough) so we'll be giving this place a pass...
Read moreTerrible customer service shown by a disrespectful employee in front of my son ( who attended Edinburgh school). This ( Light grey hair/ tenured employee) demonstrated zero business and client decorum. We came late after a sports event; however it was obvious that he did not want to work nor service us. I guess community customers- educational institutions and residential (B2C) are not important for their business. I am involved in community sports, play and coach kids soccer & hockey in which I will advise the associations on the type of customer conduct exemplified at Chicago Pizza, specifically that employee. Every customer, especially when accompanied with children should be given exemplary customer service because one day they will be the future customers. We surely will never be a customer of Chicago Pizza again; and furthermore we sincerely hope that this employee will be reprimanded and hopefully trained on what customer service is in today's competitive markets.

Read moreA local place for a reasonable pizza and very good sub. Fries are fantastic as are the subs - old school. Pricing is a reasonable for pizza at regular price they also have specials. The pizza sauce is pretty good as well as the toppings. The ingredients are fresh, the crust is yummy and it’s a great pizza place. Best when picked up hot and crisp.
Atmosphere is a typical pick up style pizzeria and as such I don’t expect the atmosphere to be any more than it is - functional as it’s not really a sit in dining place.
Service is just lovely. They are caring and knowledgeable and will even adjust your order as applicable when it can benefit from their specials. And today Manya at the cash was soooo sweet she even served my (Persian) tea and cake while I waited. Awesome. Too bad they don’t sell the cake and tea!
Food. So for a delicious pizza they are consistently delicious and lovely, but I find that their subs are near excellent. I like their subs as they are packed with ingredients and the sauce makes it so juicy it’s just old school amazing and highly recommend the steak...
