Avoid this place like it's got the plague. Terrible seating policies. My friend and I attempted to go to my local Allo! Mon Coco, here on Blvd St Laurent, this afternoon for a sunday brunch. Understandably there was a line, and it was busy. We both expected this, and got in line, as you tend to do. Finally, after waiting patiently, we make our way to the front of the line. I see a group of three vacate their spots on a long table, and get up to leave. Much to my utter disbelief, the staff comes over and get a group of three four positions behind us in line, and begins to lead them over. I stop the server and say, "Sorry, we've been waiting and we're the front of the line." She shrugs, suggests they're a three and a position for three is open, so its out of her hands. I tell her that it isn't out of her hands, and she should honor the line. She shrugs again and leads them to their spot. Of course, single diner behind me, and my group of two would have taken those spots in the same allocation, and we've been waiting 10 minutes longer... This is pretty outrageous. Now, another group of three walks in and up to the back of the line. The line is now: A group of two(waiting 15 minutes), a single(waiting about 10 minutes), a group of two(waiting around 8 minutes), and now another group of three(just arrived). A booth with three stands up and head to the exit. I watch this absolute coward of a person go up to her coworker and ask her coworker to usher the group of three from the back of line to this newly opened booth. I confront of the group, they said they've been seated by the server, I confront the server.... and then I leave. I will never, ever, ever, ever return to Allo! Mon Coco. I don't care which branch. The chain has lost mine, and my friends, business for eternity.
With great spots like: Bagels, etc, Beauty Diner, La Binerie, etc in the area, why would I even bother going back? I suggest everyone reading this review do the same. Go to a business that appreciates their customers.

This is unfortunate because I've been to this location in the past and enjoyed the food and overall experience but this time was different. Firstly, my server didn't tell us about the different options when ordering so I realized after I was stuck with the traditional potatoes when I really would've preferred the cubes.. but whatever, the potatoes aren't that big a deal. Then, when my food arrived there was a hair in my plate. When I brought it to the attention of my server she asked me if I put the hair there MYSELF because there's, and I quote, "no hair in the kitchen"!!?! I had to go so far as to point out to her that my hair is curly and black while the hair in my plate was straight and light brown. She eventually says she'll take it back but THEN says she'll only throw out the food on the side that had the hair... I kindly said no and asked for an entirely new plate of food, and eventually she said, fine she'll do that. There should have been NO question as to whether the hair was mine, this was incredibly rude and insulting! My new plate came out fine but she didn't check on us very often and my friend and I were waiting around for the bill for a while.. only to spot our server conversing in a booth on the other side of the restaurant. When we tried to get her attention she put her finger up as if to signal us to wait!! Then when we tipped BASED ON THE TERRIBLE SERVICE, she had the AUDACITY to tell us that we didn't tip enough and stand there almost debating with us about the fact that she didn't get more... we were so appalled. This may be the worst experience I've ever had with a server at a restaurant. Perhaps the servers at this restaurant need...
Read moreWorst location ever! and they only get one star because I have to leave something. Placed for take out, waited almost 45 mins outside for the order. While waiting I am sure I had seen our order ready by the kitchen, but when I walked in and asked they told me it was not ready. Finally walked in for a 3rd time and the same bag I thought I seen sitting there was I am sure the one handed to us. Walked home only to see that 2 of the 3 orders were wrong and the food cold (obviously). My friend decided to reheat hers on the stove, my Fiance was too hungry to complain and after spending almost $70 I had no intention to accept what we were given.
Walked BACK over to advise them of the issue. I have never seen so many staff confused over nothing. It was simple. The food was cold, bread was wrong and one of my sides were missing. They took my container of food and I watched as it was passed around the staff and entire kitchen while they observed it. After a long deliberation, I watched as the girl closed my container and walked it back over to me, her words specifically " I do not see the issue" as she handed me the crushed container that literally every staff had their face in. She then attempted to pass me my side of beans in a coffee cup with the sauce all over the side of the cup. With no hesitation I asked for a refund, I didn't even want the food anymore. I had 3 different staff ask me how they would give me my refund without losing the tip I added originally when I paid. I cannot make this up! Never going...
