I was with a friend from Vancouver and we were walking around to find a nice place for diner (we were at Siboire before at it was super nice but we wanted to find somewhere else to eat) the staff was nice at the beginning, but the music inside was LOUD. We asked to go to the patio, then we asked about wine (glasses and bottle price) and they said there was no menu for glass (??) Just for bottles. I asked the price and they said "glass is 13 to 16$, bottles are 60 to 200$", I said I wanted to know each SPECIFIC price and they said "you have to ask for each wine and then I can tell you" so I felt they were judging us, as people that couldn't afford their food/wine. I got a 60$ wine bottle, and we got the octopus dish, one of the most expensive in the menu. On nous avait initialement assignĂ© deux tabourets fixes devant le comptoir en aval, au milieu du brouhaha. Ayant constatĂ© la disponibilitĂ© dâune charmante petite table pour deux dans un coin plus reculĂ©, jâai sollicitĂ© un transfert. Jâai cru Ă tort quâon serait plus tranquilles Ă cet endroit, mais lĂ oĂč il y avait moins de gens, une sĂ©rie de haut-parleurs contribuait Ă surcharger lâespace sonore de plus belle. Ce matin, mes pauvres oreilles sensibles me le font payer dâun silement, un rappel agaçant du fait quâavec le son, tout comme avec les boissons, il faut y aller avec modĂ©ration.
En revanche, mon estomac, lui, Ă©tait en joie. Le bar Henrietta lui a procurĂ© exactement ce quâil dĂ©sirait : de ravissants petits plats remplis de saveur et de bons coquetels, le tout Ă prix relativement modique (total : 55 $ par personne). Un excellent tartare de bĆuf (mon numĂ©ro 1 de la soirĂ©e), une mousse de foie de volaille que mon amie a nettoyĂ© ainsi quâon nettoie un pot de Nutella, du maĂŻs soufflĂ© au manchego qui se faisait dĂ©cimer un morceau aprĂšs lâautre et, enfin, un ceviche frais et goĂ»teux. Trois des quatre plats Ă©taient assortis de minces tranches de pain grillĂ©es Ă la quasi-perfection, croquantes en surface, mais tendres en chair. Toutefois, leur prĂ©sence multiple mâa paru quelque peu redondante et peut-ĂȘtre y avait-il lĂ un «âconceptâ».
Mes yeux nâĂ©taient pas en reste non plus. La prĂ©sentation des plats Ă©tait recherchĂ©e. De plus, la salle Ă manger est revĂȘtue dâĂ©lĂ©gance avec ses murs blancs, ses globes lumineux et ses miroirs. On retrouve donc le mĂȘme bon goĂ»t visuel que dans la taverne Atlantic, autre Ă©tablissement de certains propriĂ©taires de lâendroit. Mon amie et moi avons naturellement voulu profiter de lâesthĂ©tique du lieu pour nous tirer quelques portraits, mais dans la pĂ©nombre, nos visages ressortaient Ă©videmment moins bienâ!
Bref, avis aux pĂ©pĂšres gastronomes comme moi qui prĂ©fĂšrent un peu de quiĂ©tude, il vaudrait mieux sây rendre peu aprĂšs lâouverture, en semaine, plutĂŽt quâĂ 21 heures un samedi soir (!) MalgrĂ© la protestation de mes tympans, je ne refuserais pas dây retourner en saison estivale pour la terrasse et pour la dĂ©gustation dâautres petites gourmandises : le sandwich au fromage, les Ćufs mimosas, le sandwich portugais,...
