Wow, I don't know where to start. I met there yesterday (June 30, 2020) with two of my friends since every other place on Laurier was packed and this one had empty tables with a terrace (I now know why). We ordered 36 oysters and some drinks. THE SMALL NEGATIVES: First, my friend's plate was noticeably dirty from leftover food that was not properly washed off. Second, our waiter served me a 500 ml beer without asking me if I want the small (300 ml) or big one (500 ml). I drank it without saying anything, but when I ordered a second beer, I specified that I wanted the smaller size. However, he brought me the large size yet again. I didn't say anything since I was enjoying my first night out with my friends post-quarantine. THE BIG NEGATIVES: Despite social distancing measures currently required by law, about 10 minutes before closing time, some girl who seemed to be friends with the owner sits RIGHT NEXT TO MY FRIEND (she was sitting on part of the jacket my friend was wearing- that's how close she was...she was literally touching my friend). My friend told her she felt uncomfortable and scooted away BUT THE GIRL CONTINUED TO SCOOT NEXT TO MY FRIEND- ALL WHILE TOUCHING HER! She told us they (the owner and his waiters, friends- who were looking and laughing mockingly as it all happened) are "doing a competition to see who can get the closest to others". It was utterly DISGUSTING, DISRESPECTFUL and a joke done in extremely poor taste. It was very obvious that they were doing that to get us to leave, but seriously?!?! You could just ask us to leave and we would (there were customers at two other tables btw)! I can't believe the owner and other workers just looked on laughing without doing anything. It's disturbing and they are lucky we didn't report them to the police on the spot. I wish I had. And as if this wasn't bad enough, both my friends and I got food poisoning from the oysters we ate yesterday, nausea, diarrhea, cramps and all. WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I URGE YOU NOT TO GO TO THIS PLACE. The cheap price tag in oysters ($1) is...

SUMMARY: Food is very decent + horrible SERVICE = UNLESS it's free, I wouldn't go back!!

Let's cut the crap and go straight to the point. I'm not a writer nor a food critic but I do enjoy eating out and especially eating good food! I had my reservations about this place (w/ numerous of bad reviews everywhere) but we had a Teambuy/Groupon deal for this meal. The coupon was about to expire therefore we had to use it. Food is not everything nor is service unless you're a staple of the city.

Part I: Walked into the restaurant, no one greeted us while I see staff behind the bar whom are available. Reserved for 8:30 got there at 9 and the table WASN'T READY In order to save time, we ordered as the waitress gave us the menu

Part II: The food finally came after 35-40min wait. The kitchen is slow for such a small restaurant. (The runner was the one who delivered our food not our waitress) We DIDN'T even have the CHANCE to take a bite and the waitress was breathing down our neck and asked "How's your meal??". Can you at least give us the chance to try the food first!? Numerous times we tried to flag down a staff, they totally ignored us. It's not as if they were busy because I see people behind the bar chit-chatting, etc.

Part III: It's time to pay the bill, the waitress had horrible etiquette. She was standing right next to us the whole time while we were punching our credit card information. Normally, you give the CC terminal and you walk away. You let the customer do his/her duties then come back and you don't STALK the customer!!!

The sad part about everything...the food was actually good. These reviews totally make...

This is the slowest restaurant I have every been to in my entire life. Had a reservation and still had to wait 10mins for a table. We were only two and another group of 2 had walked in just before us with no reservation and they were seated first; fine, but once we got our table they didn't even bring us menus or water. We waited 20mins before getting up to get our own menus. Finally, we had to flag a waiter down to tell him we wanted to order. He said he'd be back in 2mins; again fine, once we ordered our appetizers with him and asked for water (for a second time) he scurried away not giving us a moment to let him know we also wanted to order our main dishes. Finally, we got our appetizers and water at the same time about another 20mins later and ordered our mains (finally). At the end of the night they gave us 2 free shots each (not sure if it was to say sorry or just because but they drank with us so maybe they were just having fun, or maybe to make us feel like we needed to tip more). However we still had to flag the waiter down again for our bills and this was already late at night when there were not many people in the restaurant (the waiter's seem to be just talking to their friends at the bar). On top of everything, food was mediocre. I would definitely...

Best Sangria in town made by Heba! Fantastic service and personable staff all around! Came here with my mom and we had a great evening, I will definitely be back! Food: Wings - housemade BBQ sauce slathered over a full wing (tip included!!). Meaty, delicious, skin crisped just right. Escargot - plentiful, topped with a garlic cheese with nice crisp bread. 100% will order again. Drinks: Sangria - presented beautifully showing that gorgeous divide I want to see before it's mixed! Topped with fresh strawberries, a rare treat and only typically offered by the best. Atmosphere - cozy and personable, heat lamps in the evening to stave off any chill, terrasse seating is always a plus! Can't wait to try out more items on the menu :)

We have been going to Greasy Spoon for 10 years and every time the food and service are amazing!! It is also our three teenagers’ fav place; to each their own taste!! Amazing tuna burger, cheese burger, juicy fried chicken burgers!! We have had bavette, ribs (pork and beef) , and roasted cornish hen before. We always get some calamari or salmon tartar with oysters as appetizers!! Their cocktails are loaded with alcoholl!! We always get the half-baked cookie with ice cream, and today we had the perfect cheesecake!!! Great job Angelo training all the waiters and waitresses; always making us feel special when we visit!
