Good beer but the young barman (dark hair, glasses) working the bar on the pub side of the place had no clue how to pour a stout, which was surprising for a brewpub. After pouring me this monstrosity / joke (see photo!), I said nothing at the time not wanting to be annoying, but for the second one I asked him nicely if he could pour it so the head was around finger width, explaining that this was standard where I was from (Dublin - and this was listed as a “stout Irlandaise” so I figured I was not taking nonsense here). He did so and he said I should have told him the last one was badly poured. I said no problem not a big deal. (There were 8 people he was serving sat at the bar so I did wonder why he couldn’t maybe look at the pint before he gave it to someone!) After 4 pints I had to leave and got the check. I tipped $4 thinking that was standard (as it is in NYC - a dollar a pint) and he told me passive-aggressively that “15% is normal, but ok”. I would have preferred he just said thank you or nothing. Left a bad impression. I won’t rush back. I do think the tipping culture is getting crazy. Getting a hard time for tipping $1 a pint across 4 pints sat at a bar, when the barman doesn’t even know how to pour them!

We have been trying to visit for litereally years now and it's always been absolutely packed with people. They have recently renovated and doubled the size, opened a terrace... And it was still difficult to get 2 seats. This past weekend we finally found out why. A beautiful modern looking, comfortable interior including visible stills. We opted to sit outside as it was a nice day and we enjoyed a few of their excellent beers and and equally stellar poutine. Great drinks, great food and perfect location. This is a great example of everything you'd want a microbrewery to be and we understand now why it's so popular.

This is a nice brasserie and brewhouse along Ave Laurier West. They have a fair sized indoor seating area and outdoor terrace style seating for days with good weather. Opening hours are 11.30am to late (weekdays) and 11am to late (weekends). Menu features French Canadian and pub style cuisine along with a nice range of draught and bottled beer selections. Visited recently while staying in Montreal and enjoyed a round of beers at Dieu Du Ciel. Stout was pretty good and cider was enjoyed as well. Service was friendly, environs great for an afternoon round. Would be happy to visit again based on this experience.

I went out of my way to visit this place as it was highly reviewed and I was quite interested to see what they are producing and offering at this so called “fine establishment”.. on arrival I was greeted by a rather arrogant waiter slash host slash not quite sure what he was, and told that I could wait for a table or proceed to the bar area. I asked for the bar and was literally just brushed over to the general direction of a pretty shabby sans chic bar setup that even a student on the tightest of budgets would probably avoid.. regardless I persevered the miserable, below average surroundings with the hope that the Brew would more than make up for it..little did I know that things were just going to go downhill from here. Standing at the bar I waited patiently in full view of the bar staff who were seemingly taking pleasure in ignoring me until I managed to flag one down after about 10mins and asked for the Beer flight..acting flustered and annoyed at having to interact with me he simply waived me off and said he wouldn’t serve me unless I had a place at the already fully-seated bar..I responded by saying there were no tables and no bar stools so what should I do and he simply shrugged and basically told me to get lost lol.. and with that I got back in my car and drove to the Bar George on Rue Drummond, a fantastic and first-class establishment where I dropped a couple hundred bucks on a bottle of Napa’s finest and some premium spirit.

Basically this poor excuse for a microbrewery is just a basic place for basic beer and basic people,...

Ahhhh the legendary Dieu du Ciel! What a bar! I would have love to put pics here but I will definitely do it the next time! Over 20 different beers (and they also try new beers almost every month 😄, I probably exaggerate but it is a testament to them and their will to be inventive).

Their selection of beers vary from coffee beers, strawberry beers, the classic brown lager, IPA’s and other range of beers! And the key word is “affordable”! Not many bars can compete with this place because it is always full and the ambiance is fantastic!

A young staff with just an awesome approach to people makes this a wonderful bar! A place where you can escape and just relax! Yes, it is noisy. But when you have a packed bar like they usually have, it is hard not to make noise 😄.

I never put emojis in my reviews but this place makes me smile! If you love beer, it would be a travesty, heck, you would be doing yourself a disservice by not going to this bar.

Do yourself a favour and take your Friday night, Saturday night or whatever available time to go to this bar! This bar has a place in my heart and I have nothing but love for this bar.

I not only recommend this bar but it would be insulting not to go to this bar which represents Quebec proudly. I’m proud of this bar! You guys are...
