Let me share a story about one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in my entire life. My mom and I are sitting in a bar wanting a pizza for dinner to share with my brother and dad who were on their way back to the city from a ski trip. We see a couple restaurants that serve pizza, but this one has the best reviews, so we say f* it and walk over. At first, we were timid because we were going to be the only people in the restaurant, but boy am I glad that we went in. Eva, the owner greeted us, gave us drink recommendations, and made us feel immediately at home. I mean heck she even asked us what music we wanted to play while we ate. She recommended the gin cranberry, and we also ordered the Saturn sour which was YUM. Almost an amaretto sour but not as sickly sweet.
For the main course, we ordered 2 14” pizzas each one with half and half topping. The first was a cheese/pepperoni and the second a greek/meat lovers. Both were excellent. Eva makes everything from her own from scratch recipes, and you MUST get the greek sausage even if not the pizza. I’m telling you, we were given a plate of the sausage with a generous serving of homemade tzatziki and it was incredible. I mean, crispy and hot right out of the oven. And the tzatziki was some of the best I’ve ever had. I truly felt like I was being treated to a home cooked meal at my greek aunt’s house.
Wrapped up in a warm little pizza hug, we moved onto dessert. We ordered the recommended red velvet cake and a chocolate covered baklava with some additional sponge cake thrown in there for good measure. My brother and I both took an espresso while we ate our desserts which complemented everything perfectly. To top it all off, we received an additional off menu item, Eva’s homemade greek walnuts. Listen, I don’t even like walnuts, but these were addicting. Spiced and drizzled in organic greek honey, our family demolished the plate. It was even more difficult to say we were done! I cannot stress enough that you MUST try this hidden gem whenever you are in the mile-end. This was an experience like none other with some really phenomenal home cooked greek-Italian food. I highly recommend. We didn’t even get a picture, the food was demolished so quickly and with such passion. Come visit bistro pizza du parc for dinner...
Read moreMy daughter suggested we order in pizza and watch a movie this weekend so I thought let's try Bistro Pizza du Parc, which is within easy walking distance. So glad I did because the pizza was so delicious! There was a generous amount of pepperoni (two kinds it seemed) and baked until the edges were nicely crispy. Price-wise it's comparable to Pizza St-Viateur, but the pizza at Bistro PdP is so much better!
When I arrived to pick up my order, Eva the owner came out to greet me. She told me she makes almost everything from scratch, including the cakes which were displayed at the counter. I impulsively added a slice of chocolate cake to my order as my kid loves it so much, and did not regret it when I saw how she inhaled it (I managed to get a few bites). It's really nice to have a neighbourhood restaurant like Bistro PdP so I hope it will stick around, hence this review to help bolster business during the slow winter months. We're looking forward to coming back, to dine in and/or pick up for...
Read moreWow! This place really rocks. At first I was skeptical because it's a Greek place that's also a pizza joint? But I was really hoping to get some pastitsio so decided to stop by on a Sunday evening. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, and felt really homey and intimate. We were lucky enough to meet the owner and she was so warm and kind, and really made us feel like we were home. The pizza here is no joke! It may not be a traditional Greek dish, but it sure felt like I was transported to Italy! The pizza dough was probably the best I've had - pillowy and soft but also crunchy on the outside. The flavors were popping in my mouth, and the whole slice was well balanced. They didn't end up making pastitsio this weekend, but had some moussaka instead and it was unctuous! Decadent, savory, and felt like a big warm hug. Don't sleep on this place - it's...
