Worst dining experience ever. We reserved a table for three on May 25th 2024 with a strict dining window from 5 to 7 pm. When we arrived at 4:46 pm, the manager, from a distance, rudely told us to come back in 15 minutes. This felt dismissive and unwelcoming; a basic courtesy in customer service would be to approach guests personally and offer a polite explanation and reserving a seat yet it never happend. When we returned, a family who arrived after us was given the best spot by the window, while we were seated in a cramped left corner. This preferential treatment was disappointing and unprofessional yet we decided to ignore it. We were given a table with four chairs. We placed our bags on the fourth chair since there were only three of us. Ordered appitizers and main dishes simoultanously in order to respect the time fram. Mid-meal, a waiter abruptly interrupted us, demanding the fourth chair. My husband had to stop eating and help him to move the chair, making us uncomfortable as we had to embrace our bages while eating; made eating quite hard due to space limitation. There were plenty of empty chairs in the restaurant, and other customers were using chairs for their bags without any issue why he dare to behave with us like this still is a mystery. Good customer service etiquette dictates that staff should discreetly manage seating arrangements without disrupting diners. When we addressed our concerns with the manager, the waiter loudly interrupted, accusing us of not understanding the situation and claiming that another customer had lied about needing an extra chair. When we asked why he didn’t take the chair from the lier customer, we were accused of taking the situation personally and not understanding. We decided not to give any tip as the complain almost change to confrontation as waiter seems not willing to understand his mistak. In return we were told that they donot need our tips and all this complain was only a fake excuse for not tipping. This was incredibly unprofessional and disappointing . This is the second time we've had a bad experience at Kaza Maza. Previously, our online reservation was changed to another date an hour before our arrival. This time poor managment and rude waiter who doesnot know the baisics. We used to go there alot and enjoying the food, yet the consistently poor and rude service means their service level is not as good as it used to be and we should not go back. Stay away, there are many other good resturants in Montreal with much better...

Oh, where to begin with this gastronomic travesty? Let's just say the "highlight" of my meal was a profound disappointment so singular, it managed to eclipse any fleeting enjoyment of the otherwise admittedly decent food. And what was this culinary crime, you ask? The pita bread.
Yes, the humble pita. That seemingly innocuous accompaniment, often taken for granted. But here, it was elevated to an art form of neglect. I'm not sure what the establishment was aiming for – perhaps a deconstructed, avant-garde take on "bread from a day-old plastic bag"? Because that's precisely what arrived: a sad, deflated, and decidedly stale disc, still clinging to the cheap plastic in which it presumably suffered its final indignity.
One can only marvel at the sheer audacity. Did they run out of fresh pita? Or was this a deliberate act of sabotage, a test to see how much one could truly tolerate?
As someone who has spent considerable time navigating the culinary landscapes of the Middle East – from the most opulent dining rooms to the most humble street food stalls in Morocco and Egypt – I can attest to one universal truth: you get warm pita bread. Even the cheapest, most unpretentious vendor understands this fundamental concept.
The owners, bless their hearts, must be truly innovative. They've managed to redefine "service" to include an intentional act of pita-paucity. The "wonderful" food became a mere backdrop, a fleeting distraction from the main event: the cold, unyielding monument to their collective oversight. Shame?
Oh, they should be absolutely brimming with it. This wasn't just a misstep; it was a philosophical statement on their disregard for the customer experience....
Read moreI’ll start off by saying that the food is pretty good. The dips are fantastic especially the baba ghanouj Myself, my husband and our friend came and we had a reservation for 8:45pm. We ended up getting seated around 9:05pm. We also were told that we’d get a table at the window and we ended up getting seated at the table right by the door instead. the restaurant was extremely hot and muggy and loud. The atmosphere was unpleasant. we ordered our food pretty fast, however it took about half an hour for it to arrive at our table so all in all we waited close to 45 minutes before we ate even though we had a reservation. they offered us free drinks for the inconvenience, however we don’t drink, so they gave us some potatoes to share instead. the dips were great as I said, but the entrees were not amazing. The rice they gave me with mine smelled like it went bad. despite all of this the thing that annoyed me the most was the male server who gave us our bills. As my husband was paying he thought he pressed the tip option but he didn’t and as he went to pay the server took it directly from his hand and cancelled the transaction and kept aggressively telling my husband that he didn’t tip. I can’t even begin to explain how much this annoyed me and turned me off from this restaurant. Tipping is optional especially when the service is as bad as it was for us today. Also what if we wanted to tip in cash? His attitude was completely uncalled for. save yourself the trip and go to Garage...
