Several things wrong with this place. It used to be so good... :'( My birthday meal. Server took 10 min to even take our drink order. There were 5 of us. A pitcher of draught beer and a red sangria and a long island iced tea. Calamari and nachos to start. We were ready to enjoy a good evening with friends with great food.
Brought out appetizers, brings 4 plates. My long island iced tea was literally all lemon. That's all I could taste. Draught beer was partially flat. Server disappears. My party and I are enjoying the Habs game that night and my birthday. Appetizers done, we had to catch our server's attention to get him to clear the table.
Main meal finally gets ordered after a 2nd round of drinks which took 20 min to order. This time I ask for a pitcher of iced water for the entire table. The server brings it but no glasses. Pitcher sits on our table and no one can drink it. I'm starting to get upset because this is my birthday celebration.
Cue the food after 25 min. My ribs are fantastic. Everyone is happy with the quality and quantity of their food. Takes 30 min to get the cheque. The Habs won the game and my party splits the amount. My boyfriend pays 145 and tells the server we won't be back. Total meal: close to 200. Level of satisfaction: 0 Quality of food:...
Read moreWe planned a holiday party 3 weeks ago with Kim, the general manager. Kim and I agreed on a reduced menu based on our budget and drink tickets. We discussed appetizer options. We reserve theverriere, there were people in that space when we arrived shortly before 5 pm. Kim was no where to be found. The waitresses had no idea, about the reservation, what Kim and I had discussed and, when they tried to call Kim she did not answer her phone. The wait staff was peeved, and did not explain things to us well.I understand they were caught off guard, but I am the customer. I was bringing 23 people to their restaurant. We are not in your industry. It was not a good experience, and we will never go back. The food was ok.
Follow up: I received a call from Jimmy at the head office. I was impressed with his willingness to understand my perspective. I work in customer service. Post COVID the restaurant industry has been greatly affected. People are less patient and quick to judge. I explained that setting expectations is important. It’s the lay of the land, and if you are a team of people working then you should all pick up and make sure things go best as possible given the circumstances. That did not happen in this case. How to mitigate the situation in the future is where the...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a breakfast spot, this is not the place. Brasserie Le Manoir is really more of a bar with slot machines than a restaurant that focuses on food. The atmosphere feels geared toward drinking and gambling, not enjoying a proper meal.
The service itself was friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, the food didn’t come close to meeting expectations. The coffee was so watered down that it was unpleasant to drink. My omelet was completely bland and runny, as if it hadn’t been seasoned or cooked properly. The Eggs Benedict with ham, which should be a reliable classic, had no taste at all — it was flat and unappetizing. The only thing on the table that was halfway decent were the potatoes, but that alone isn’t enough to salvage the meal.
Overall, the experience felt like a waste of time if you’re coming for breakfast or brunch. The setting and menu don’t match, and the kitchen clearly doesn’t put care into the food. If you’re going there for drinks and the bar atmosphere, maybe it makes sense. But if you want a good breakfast or a satisfying meal, you’ll be...
