DO NOT GO HERE. My friend and I were visiting this past week for a concert and found this place online and we’re super excited to go. We had a big day that day and we’re preparing for a concert so we thought making a reservation was the best way to secure a spot. After making the reservation I was given a confirmation notification and told to arrive at 5:30. We arrived, it was a total ghost town with nobody inside, front door was locked but music was blaring from the inside. We were a few minutes early so we decided to just wait and looked for a contact number while we did. To our surprise there was no number for contact and so we waited until 5:45 politely knocking every few minutes. Not one time did someone come to the door, so we left. That should be the end of it no? WELL, to my surprise we got an email on the 26th (2 days after the booking) saying our reso is confirmed (photos attached) we were obviously very confused as it was now 2 days after the booking. We wrote it off as a mistake and ended up having a great night anyway (shout-out to 3 brasseurs, best experience there) but then just now, 3 days after my trip, I get an email saying our reso has been denied (also attached a picture)
I have no idea what their booking system is and if this is just a one time experience but it’s giving shady, unprofessional, and irresponsible. DO NOT GO HERE.
PS - after returning to the subway after the concert we noticed they were OPEN and had never called us to ask about our reservation or explain what happened. Super unprofessional and very relieved we didn’t give them...
Read moreFiance and I stayed next door to this place not knowing what type of little gem it would be. We only picked where to stay based on walking distance to Bell Center for the Black Sabbath concert tonight. Well let me add we drove nearly 9 hours from home (each way) to get here for this show and from the experience and food we had I can't say i wouldn't make the drive again just for the experience of their burgers again. The food was amazing. I had the steak and fries, fiance had the Guinness Burger and we shared a platter. Portions were fantastic and ohhh the flavor :) We also each had a 32 oz stein of beer (before food so not a factor) and our server/bartender was awesome, she was very approachable and friendly, so much in fact that several regulars that came in were addressed by name and offered them "the usual". We learned that the chefs name was Eric and that he is very very accommodating in what you want on or in your meal with substitutions or additives without question. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who may be in the area or wiling to travel some for amazing food and are looking for that place you'd like to call, "that place...
Read moreUsed to go here with friends 6-7 yrs ago and it was alright. Still a dive bar but was more kept up and looked at least decent. Recently went back with 2 girlfriends and there was a strong smell like vomit when we walked in the door. When we gave constructive feedback about this to the waiter he became defensive and acted like we shouldn’t expect better and that we just didn’t notice how bad it was in our college days. But we know it used to be better there …
While deciding if we were going to stay, I had to use the washroom so took a chance and went here but regretted it. One toilet had had the seat torn off and the other (very dark and dust-caked) stall had no toilet paper. Nothing to dry hands with either. There was also no closing door on the washroom if I recall and some dudes playing pool right outside. Told the waiter about the tp and he said he’d have the busboy go refill supplies, and that they’re « not exactly a 5-star establishment . » Well, you called it 🙄
It’s nice to have a bar with pool tables and couches (maybe?) but this place just felt sleazy and has gone downhill. We were nearly the only girls there and left...
