Cozy happy place. They have yuzu limonade and sakura mochi. It's nice to have a japanese place that looks like a den for locals to rest, instead of an overly fancy stiff place for tourists. Hidden gem.

I actually love the mismatched chairs. It feels like multiple families gathered for a party. Someone wrote a review that it was hard to sit comfy and they replied that they improved it right away.

There is a kid area but the kids must be well behaved because I never noticed until I read the reviews. So don't worry if you dread kids screaming while running around. This is a zen place. There are no 1 star review! The lowest is a 4! Don't expect a 5 star restaurant, but this is a 5 star happy place. 😊😊😊😊😊

Thank you so much for feeding me instead to kick me out in the rain, when I came after closing time by mistake. I didn't even have to beg. They felt sorry to offer a limited menu. Their onigiri are almost free at 2$, made by hand, so warm, unlike cold ones from convenirnce stores. Best I ever had! The topping on top is to identify them, they're filled with goodness and...

Worth the walk if you are in the more commercial side of Wellington. You won't regret it. My go-to café since I moved in Verdun. Creative fusion dishes, authentic Japanese meals, good prices. Lots of love in the coffee making process: from importation all the way to roasting and brewing. They don't only do coffee : they have yuzu and other funky drinks.

Owners are such a cute young couple; they've just had their first baby. They are so dedicated, they know the names of their loyal customers.

Friendly vibes of diversity and inclusion with vegan-friendly options. Whether you want to come and have a bite with your friends or kids, grab some coffee to go, work alone or meet up with colleagues: it's the perfect place.

They've got a space dedicated to kids with toys and stuff. They even have a bunch of instruments if you want to play music. They will be all ears.

Tremendously lucky to live...

The staff were so nice and respectful! I've only been there once but I'll definitely go again. When I went to order, I was pleasantly greeted by workers and once I recieved my food, they made sure everything was okay. On the first bite of my onigiri, I knew this place was a game changer. The combination between the savoury and tangy mushrooms and the seasoned rice was everything. It was so well made that I went for seconds! The matcha latte could be improved a little, since it was a little too strong for my taste. The interior design is amazing, it makes you feel at home from first glance. I think the idea with the swings is very unique since I've never seen that before! There are enough seatings for everyone and there's a lot of space too. It's definitely a good place to do leftover work or just to chill with friends! 10/10, this...

Café Komma Rosta is a fantastic little spot in Verdun that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. We tried their udon soup along with one of their onigiri, and both were absolutely delicious. The udon was rich, flavorful, and incredibly comforting—perfect for a very cold day. The onigiri was fresh and well-balanced, making for a great complement to the meal. We also had a coffee, and it was excellent—smooth and well-brewed. The attention to quality really stands out. The ambiance is cozy and relaxed, making it an ideal place to unwind with good food and a great cup of coffee. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall great experience. Definitely a place I’d return to!

Komma Rosta was amazing and delicious! The food and snacks tasted like you're in Japan. The vibe is really nice with plenty of space and swings!! Very nice spot to socialize or work. They sell a lot of nice japanese goodies. Their coffee is delicious and I really liked the sakura mochi. If you want a nice small salty snack I recommend the onigiri trio, otherwise the udon and curry were delicious and filling. The owners were super sweet and kind, we felt really welcomed and their service was amazing! I will definitely comeback!

I had an incredible experience at this Japanese café. The food was absolutely amazing, though the kitsune udon could use a bit more flavor in the broth as it felt a little diluted for my taste. On the other hand, the hiyashichuka was outstanding – a perfect balance of flavors. Both the coffee and matcha were top-notch as well. The owner himself came to check on us, and he was extremely kind and welcoming, which added a personal touch to the visit. I highly recommend this place for its delicious offerings and warm hospitality!
