The food we got was good to very good. The food alone is rated 4-4.5/5.
The service was sub par, hence the overall review score.
The online ordering system was ok, but there are some issues if you have to add/remove items in the cart, and you likely will have to reload a fresh page. The online service states that you can only pay cash at the actual location, which is wrong. They do take cash interac and credit.
The online/order queue and confirmation times are off. The email we got stated a "15 min" wait, which in reality was closer to 30. I know that rush periods can change this, but this is a professional business, update whatever formula the system is using for ACTUAL time values.
The service at the location was a fail. We were asked of we wanted chopsticks and said yes. Asked twice again while waiting for the order to finally be ready for chosticks, "yes" again. Ended up seeing that no chopsticks were included in the order bag.
If you're in charge of client orders, and are overloaded and/or have bad memory, WRITE THINGS DOWN.
Lastly, this place is take out only, and the default tip % on the machine are ridiculous. 15% is the lowest value shown (with the mention that food was ok). Highest was THIRTY PERCENT. 30% would be extremely rare during a sit down/service meal, but for take out?
That's an extremely shady way of guilting customers into going on the higher scale of things if "15%" is shown as the lowest/"it's ok" scale. I realize the pandemic changed the game for many places, but adjust your actual food items prices to reflect the actual reasonable prices, but don't guilt customers with ridiculous tip brackets.
Again, food was very good! It's the ancillary service that is definitely...
Read moreDumplings in Verdun? Dumplings in my hood? Hell yeah! Was so excited to try it! Did not disappoint. Although I only tried the steamed dumplings, they were pretty decent!
The girl waitress was very kind and made sure that everything was good along the whole time we were there. There was a mistake in our order and to compensate, she offered us free hot and spicy soup. It was good! For those who can't eat spicy, do not try it!
The restaurant itself is very small. It is more of a take out place. There are 4 tables for those who wants to dine in.
They also have bubble tea. I wanted the original milk tea with bubbles, but it was sold out. So I tried the jasmin milk tea instead. It wasn't bad at all. It's definitely not the best bubble tea, but it is good enough to satisfy any bubble tea craving.
I will come back for...
Read moreI have decided to try Mr. Dumpling because of the line of people waiting to pick up their orders.
Dumpling can be either steamed or fried and comes as a half or full dozen. I tried the half-dozen fried pork and cabbage dumplings. It will very tasty; crispy skin with a little bit of soup inside from the cooking process. It came with a small container of soy and red vinegar mix. It paired nicely with the dumplings. I wish it had a little bit of chili oil. I'll try to remember if they can do that next time.
The Won ton soup was a clear broth. The imperial roll was great. Both of the appetizers had good filling.
Wait time was between 15-20 minutes for the order to be ready from when I ordered from the counter.
Overall an enjoyable...
