This is Montreal's best authentic Rotisserie place to eat chicken and fries. Forget St-Hubert, Scores, Laurier BBQ, Chalet Swiss & other wannabe's. You will not find a better chicken in any other restaurants and at a good price.

Service 5 stars: Just like mom or grandma used to served you food. You will feel just like at home. Service is normally very fast, 5 minutes or less, unless it is a busy night, then you might have to be patient to get your plate, just like you would with your mom! ;-)

Food 10 stars: The menu is simple they specialized in Chicken and fries only, don't expect to find club sandwich or poutine on the menu! This is THE best chicken I ever had, love the home cut fries, sauce and real coleslaw. I love the tasty sauce with my moist chicken breast and fries; you know its perfect when you can also eat the skin; it's the best! - Oh, they also have the classic hot chicken sandwich with peas dish.

Desserts 5 stars: They also have the classic homemade style desserts such as Boston Pie, Old Fashion Cheese Cake, Lemon Pie, etc... My fave dessert is the cheesecake for sure; huge slice topped with strawberries, a classic at its finest!...enjoy!

Ambiance 3 stars: If you are expecting glamour, excitement or a romantic dinner you probably will not find it there unless you appreciate the retro/vintage 70's look since this place has never changed since I celebrated my 8th birthday 40 years ago.. a true homey atmosphere and that's how they should keep it!

Value 10 stars: Shhht.. don't let them know how their price are ridiculously low for a full meal. You get Chicken noodle or rice soup entree, Chicken Breast or Leg, Fries, a bread buns with Coleslaw or Tomato Juice, Pop Drink or Coffee, for less than $10 (Dinner for two costs $16 without soup). This is the best value you will get for food, it is a super deal especially for such tasty and quality food!

Overall: Perfect!

This is the best chicken on the planet, decade after decade. I've yet to find its equal. Best place to go with friends or family. Not the place for a romantic diner; it's all about the food!

The only thing missing in my personal view is good coffee; I would love finishing my meal with an espresso allongé but...

God Bless this restaurant and Chalet Bar-B-Q is one of the best places to get roast chicken here in the city. The last time I was here was probably a while ago but I hope to eat in this restaurant when this pandemic is over.

From What I remembered. The service is decent because it was not as crowded as it used to be it was on a weekend as well but pretty busy. The chicken, fries side dishes were delicious and cooked to perfection. I had no issues with the food for dining in at the time.

The last time I was there 5 years ago and it is one of my favorite chicken places in the city.

The only thing is that it is pretty far for me since it is located close to downtown but in the N.D.G. area. However it is walkable from Villa-Maria and Vendome metro. There is also parking in the street and at the back.

During the pandemic their times have changed and I believe they only accept takeout and delivery but no dining.

This Chalet BBQ is the best chicken place in the city.

Pros: A) Our make server don’t know his name is bilingual and very polite he is a male. B) The Cesar salad as a starter was good and simple and the chicken soup was hot and not like warm. Both were delicious. C) The chicken and baked potato were delicious and seasoned perfectly especially the chicken. D) The location is perfect as it’s near the highway and not far from Vendome Metro.

Cons: A) Washrooms is old and needs renovation. B) Parking is pretty tight but it’s nice that they have parking for clients.

Other than that. This a hidden gem and I want to comeback to visit and show tourists and visitors this chicken spot is the best in MTL.

In the future I hope to try and check it out. It was voted one of the best roast chicken restaurants by CTV and many chicken fans alike.

A great recommendation and hope you guys can try it. One of the best roast chicken places in the 514 area.

The worst the worst the worst! I walk in and I had just had my blood work done so I hadn't eaten since the night before. Im waiting for a friend to arrive so I ask the waiter to please bring me a piece of bread as I'm starving. He answers me that he cannot bring some bread! I explain that I'm waiting for a friend and to please bring me the bread that comes with chicken . I ask him not to put the bread with my plate of chicken and to please bring me the bread now. He answers that he is sorry but can't do it. What he can do he tells me is sell me a chicken soup with a piece of bread.... I answer fine. I leave the soup there as I didn't want soup and eat the bread . So my friend hasn't arrived yet and I ask another waiter to please bring me a toothpick. She answers me that she's busy and the toothpicks are right by the cash! Yo go and get it!! Now I'm upset . I tell the lady that I don't understand why she cannot get it for me. She answers that she's busy. So it's 2 in the afternoon and there's maybe 4 tables total in the restaurant. When my waiter comes back I tell him what happened. He just shrugs his shoulders. I ask him why he does this and he answers that he does not care. I tell him it would be my last time coming and again he says he doesn't care. The worst part of my story is that a minute later I hear him telling the waitress what happened and they start laughing loudly. When he comes back I tell him I heard him and again he says he doesn't care! Finally my friend arrives and I tell him the story . He tells me there's no way we are eating here. I leave 20 dollars on the table for the beer and chicken soup and we leave ... The waiter works the back section left side of the restaurant. Hes a little bit chubby and maybe around 35 to 40 years old. The lady who made the comment was a black girl that was younger. I will never go back there again . I would go once a month and leave from laval to have chicken there....
