The quality has gone so down here. The sushi was mushy, it used to be cubes of beautiful fresh fish/ now each piece was over filled with tempura flakes that were either gooey or too crunchy to chew. I had to spit them out. The fish was a pasty mash of chewy pieces. The avocado was black and brown to the point I could taste it had gone bad and fermented. When I asked to speak to the manager to show him my plate of disappointing sushi I waited 15 minutes for him to come to my table. the owner, Tang, told me “this is not bad” that is not bad sushi. Then called me by name and told me he would take 15% off my bill and proceeded to wave the machine in my face to pay immediately. He did not apologize, offer me another plate of food, nothing. Not to mention I have been coming here for over 9 years. I am truly a loyal customer to the owner and his restaurant and have been on a first name basis with him since 2015. I have had birthdays, anniversary’s, date nights and takeouts monthly for nine years here. I have recommended more than 20 of my friends and family here. The last 6 months it has been discouraging to order from 5 saisons because the quality and consistency is gone and below par. I decided to give it one last try and treat myself to what used to be my favourite sushi spot. I am beyond disappointed with the food and his service. I asked if there was a new chef and he looked at me shocked and sternly said no. I paid my bill, left the rest of my plate uneaten and walked out feeling unsatisfied, hungry and upset. Read moreWould have been 4 stars if it weren't for the rude server (Louis?). We were greeted immediately upon arrival and were shown to a nice bench table despite not having reservations. Long story short; the food was good (Te Quiero always makes me happy) but the service was upsetting. One of their newer servers was incredibly rude. After he took the order sheet from the table right next to us, I was prepared to hand him our order (you order on sheets provided) too, he turned and rudely dismissed me. It was so blatantly disrespectful that the lady next to me who just handed in her order made some sounds and remarks about the server's behaviour, she was quite appalled by him. She even brought it up with another server while being served their wine, that perhaps his colleaugue cold use a glass. The offensive server then proceeded to unprofessionally serve us our dishes. My husband then got his turn. After a long week of hospital visits and stressful work, the last thing we needed was unwarranted rudeness. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how good the food is, if you leave your clients feeling like garbage they will find another place where they are made to feel appreciated. Read moreMy experience here was very disappointing, to say the least. We came on a Monday evening when the restaurant was not busy. The server was rude and insisted that "he would be back" to take our order, which was on paper. When the food finally arrived, half of the rolls we had ordered were extremely bland (they were 90% rice), including one of their specialty rolls that contained "spicy crab". We wanted to address this issue with our server, however we never had the chance to as he did not come to our table once to fill water or to ask how the food was. Our table was also not cleared and we waited 40 minutes for the bill. He came only after we had asked the manager if we could pay. When we told him that we were dissatisfied with some of the rolls, he answered "I honestly can't tell if you're joking or not". He then sent for the manager who proceeded to literally laugh in my face and then walk away when I told him that some of the rolls we ordered were not good. I'm honestly just shocked that an establishment can be so inconsiderate of their customers.
