I went for a jog/walk this morning. I forgot my water bottle at home, and everything was closed at 6:00 in the morning. I eventually stumbled upon this little breakfast diner, and decided to go in and see if I could get something healthy to drink - a smoothie, juice, etc., and possibly some sliced fruit. The waitress greeted me immediately and was lovely - she was relaxed and knowledgable and had a genuine smile the whole time. I looked at the menu and decided on the "Tutti Frutti Excellence". As I waited, I looked out the window, and after some time, I heard "Wow", "Ou", "Ah" from the other diners. When I looked around, I saw that the waitress was bringing my order!
It.Was. BEAUTIFUL.
It was, what I would consider, a small platter (not just a plate, as mentioned on the menu), of beautifully cut and displayed fruit. It was such a nice presentation, I couldn't stopped staring at it, and the other 6 diners must have felt the same as I did. They even apologized for continuing to look back at my plate - but I understood, because I was just as impressed and astonished! Lol. There was such a variety, and all the fruits were fresh, and perfectly ripe (not under, or over). The order also came with a bagel, with butter & cream cheese on the side, a bowl of cottage cheese with berries, and what I believe was freshly squeezed orange juice (no pulp).
I smiled the entire time I ate.
As there was no way I was going to eat it all, I waited for the waitress to finish taking someone's order to ask her for a container of sorts, to take the rest home. The other waitress came over asking if I needed a coffee refill. She must have seen I was finished p(despite barely putting a dent in my breakfast), and immediately asked if I'd like her to pack it, or get something so I could pack it and take it to go. She was just as lovely, and smiled throughout, the same as the first waitress. I opted to pack it myself - so she brought several styrofoam containers, to keep the fruit, cottage cheese, and bagel separate, and then got a brown bag with handles, and packed the bag for me. *Worth mentioning : This was not her table.
This was one of the best experiences I've had in a restaurant in a long time, and from start to finish, it was a delight. The service was phenomenal, the food was fresh and delicious, the portion was exceptional, and the display was so impressive. Simply put, it was impeccableđđŒ. It wasn't just a plate of food, it was an experience. I genuinely can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes.
I just wish I had brought my phone with me on my jog, so I could have taken pictures, and I wish I had asked for both waitresses names so that I could personally thank them once again in this review!
So on that note - A big thank you to Eggquis for making my day, and leaving me with a smile plastered on my face, long...
Read moreI went to Eggsquis after dropping my dad off at his doctors appointment. When I was sat down by the hostess and noticed people arriving after me were being offered coffee before me, I let one of the waitresses know that I was in a bit of a hurry. I didnât show any attitude and smilingly and respectfully requested for my order to be taken.
What followed honestly took me by surprise. The two waitresses that were on the floor began searching for my waitress and when they found her, my waitress didnât seem impressed. She had a very annoyed look on her face.
She walked over to my table without looking me in the eyes or even smile. She threw the utensils on front of me, filled my cup up with coffee without even asking me if I wanted coffee (I wanted tea) then asked âwhat do you want in your orderâ. I responded with a âHi, how are you?â and smiled at her. She responded with âwhat do you want in your orderâ without lifting her eyes from her little booklet.
At which point I got up and said ânever mind, Iâm done hereâ. She asked why and I told her itâs unacceptable to scatter utensils in front of me and not even respond to my hi.
The thing is, the staff is never really pleasant to deal with here. This time I had just had enough.
I went over to Chez Cora and plan on going there from now on. The staff is pleasant and the food is decent and itâs only a minute away...
Read moreIf youâre looking for a go-to brunch spot in LaSalle, Eggsquis is IT! I recently went and had such a comforting, delicious experience from start to finish. The staff were so welcoming and kind, you can feel the family-friendly, down-to-earth energy as soon as you walk in. â€ïž
The food? So fresh, SO satisfying, and beautifully served. I had the perfect classic breakfast, eggs done just right, buttery toast, golden potatoes (crispy on the outside, soft inside), and everything came out hot and fast! đ„
And the portions? Letâs just say, you wonât be leaving hungry or disappointed. đ Whether you're in the mood for something sweet like crepes and fresh fruit, or more savoury like omelettes and bacon, theyâve got you covered.
Itâs the kind of place that makes you want to go back again and again for the food, the smiles, and the good morning vibes. âïžđ
Definitely a LaSalle gem worth...
