L'Œufrier (Saint-Henri) — Restaurant in Montreal

I called in an order at 9:53 am this morning. They told me that it would take 10 minutes to be prepared. I showed up around the time they advised and waited at their front entrance for a waiter/waitress to greet me. For context, the restaurant was not busy and there were 3 waiters/waitresses working.

One of the waiters stopped by a table not far from where I was standing to take a customer’s order. Once he was done, I attempted to get his attention as he had looked up directly in my direction but he immediately walked away towards the kitchen rather than trying to check in to see if he could help with anything. I believe he may have told one of the waitresses to go to front as by now there was now myself and another man standing there waiting to be served. The waitress begins to walk towards the front of the restaurant but completely ignores me and immediately starts helping the man BEHIND me. I attempted to interject and get her attention in which she also ignores me and walks off.

By this point, I have been waiting close to 10 mins to pick up an order that was called in 20 mins prior. I had to CALL the restaurant once more and ask that someone comes to the front as I have been waiting to pick up my order. The man that answer the phone simply said he thought that his colleague came by. He didn’t apologize nor try to sympathize with the fact that I’ve been ignored the entire time that I was standing there. He finally gives me the order but it was not complete. My order was supposed to come with a drink however he did not have anything with him or bring it up before I proceeded to say something. I got home and when we opened the order, we realized that the order was wrong. We were given bacon although I had asked for sausage. The bacon was undercooked and looked as if it had been cooked hours prior as the grease turned white and the mashed potatoes were extremely dry.

I do not want to claim that the employees working were racist as I did not explicitly get told something racist HOWEVER to be the only Black person in the restaurant and to be ignored by not one but by two employees and to have the waitress acknowledge and serve the white man standing BEHIND me without even bothering to acknowledge my existence definitely felt like a microaggression and frankly made me very uncomfortable. I used to love coming here with my family as it was so close to home but after today’s experience, I will most likely...

Ok, this could be a easy 4 or 4.5 but no 1/2 stars so I have to go 3 instead of 3.5 The good, Good looking dishes, welll presented and full. - Coffee was hot and you never looked to get a refill. Bacon nice and crisp. Mashed potatoes- best part of meal. They were hot (sadly the only thing hot on the plate) and tasty. Great friendly service

The not so good and the one bad Eggs over easy , were barley warm and to runny not enough not to eat but not great when down to last few cold pieces left. Uuggge. Toast also barely warm but can live with it. Home fries also just warmish but good tasting Waffle cold when arrived but still very nice looking and tasted nice. (Trying hard to balance positive and negative) The bad 2:50$ extra for real syrup?? For 13-16$ plates and you charge for syrup (size of a pill cup) to put on your french toast or waffle?? Come on please that is cheap!

Total cost 47$ tax and tip for two breakfasts, No, not cheap. But do able if more care was taken to serve hot or heck even 3/4 hot.

At least you warmed plates so you are not plopping food on a cold plate so by the time we get receive it is...

Big disappointment! Zero for Service it was non existent. Waitress never came to our table as I had to waive her down after waiting for over 20 mins. We were 3 and only got 2 glass of water without refills ever. No coffee refills either. I asked for the vegé Benedictine and the waitress (Gabriela) gave me full meat Benedictine. I repeat I wanted vegé informing her of all the ingredients that went into it… she went back to the kitchen to make the change only to come back with Brie+muschrooms Benedictine!!! She got the order wrong 2 times even when I told her of the Ingredients. I what it I was so hungry I just ate it. Worst, the smoothie was not fresh as there was a sour milk gone bad taste to it. The potatoes are deep fried & refried again, dry & dark. Oil needs to be changed and the fruits accompanying the plate were not fresh & warm (unrefrigerated). The waitress (Gabriela) never made the change to our bill. I was not in the mood to argue for 2$. Nevertheless I Left her a huge tip despite this very disappointing experience only because...
