🇬🇧 My experience at L’Oeufrier Verdun: flavorful brunch, great vibe… with a few things to improve During my visit to L’Oeufrier in Verdun, I immediately saw why it’s such a favorite for brunch lovers in Montreal. The atmosphere is warm, modern, and family-friendly, making it a cozy place to relax and enjoy a good meal. As soon as I walked in, the team was welcoming and attentive—something many other visitors have also pointed out. In my case, the service was fast, and you could tell they genuinely cared about the experience. Several reviews mention great servers like Kevin and Melissa, which speaks volumes about the staff. The menu is creative, fun, and extensive. Classic brunch dishes meet unique, bold combinations. The portions are generous, and plates are beautifully presented. If you’re feeling hungry, I highly recommend trying the “Je me souviens”—it’s a feast. That said, there’s room for improvement. Some reviews (and my own experience) pointed out inconsistencies from the kitchen: dishes arriving cold, mistakes in the order, or even ingredients showing up where they shouldn’t (like meat in a vegetarian meal). A few guests also found fruit that wasn’t fresh or eggs with shells. Given the price range of around $30 to $70 per person, a more consistent experience is expected. Better quality control in the kitchen would go a long way. Parking is another thing to consider—it can be a bit tricky, especially during peak hours. I’d recommend arriving early or using public transport if you’re coming on a weekend. ✅ What I liked: • The friendly, welcoming atmosphere • The creative and varied menu • The fast and courteous service • The loyalty program, great for regulars 🔧 What could be improved: • Stronger quality control on food (temperature….

First time visiting here in Verdun but have visited other locations. Wasn't too happy with my Guatemala frape. Was brought one that was not what I ordered to be given something that doesn't look like what's on the menu..Very little whip cream and caramel on top.. not worth 10$. Food was semi warm almost on the colder side. Did not mention this because I knew this would be sent back and put into a microwave which would just dry it out. Turkey Bacon was on the colder side... Crepe was cold... Eggs was lukewarm. Server spilled a tray of cups with water on me and my partner. Thankfully most of it didn't hit us but on the table. Had to move my chair back very quickly to dodge this. Very disappointed /:

Opened just recently, so they are still finding their feet. Took a little bit to get a coffee and they never brought the hot sauce, but the food was good. Je me souviens plate was HUGE and just what you want it to be. Good servings of bacon, sausage and ham with two eggs and potatoes, baked beans and creton. Couldn't finish the French toast that accompanied it, but it was good as leftovers. The Hamburbagel is a delightful concept. Hamburger on a bagel with a poached egg. Hard to eat but delicious. The overnight oats were meh. Fresh fruit on top was nice, but the porridge was pretty flavorless. They have a large selection of smoothies and milkshakes which I didn't try. Would go back.

Today, sept.24th at 11 am, I decided to go back to this restaurant as it is my birthday and wanted to treat myself. EVERYTHING is always 100% when I come here but today..it didn't go as well.

I arrived and got a fantastic greeting by the young Lady at the front like usual. She then sat me by the window where I waited for the waitor..he didn't come fast..I waited a good 10-15 minutes before he came and noticed me and when he arrived, he had drinks for the table next to me.

I was expecting a "Hi, how are you today? I'll be right with you" but what I got in French was "can I put this here(his icebox with a bottle of something) for the next table.

I DON'T LIKE POOR MANNERS. I said ok..he served the table next to me then left..sometime later comes back to me in French although I spoke English.

The whole interraction with Jonathan ircked me from start to finish maybe I was just unlucky this time. I ordered the chocolate aphrodisac drink and the pancakes with fruit and some water.

I had to wait until the waiter showed up to ask for water..time passed....it came but help me Lord if I wanted another..the waiter was busy on the floor but not in the least talkative, and wasn't going around his tables to see if anyone needed anything else..just there to give the service and that's it.I was clearly just another receipt to him.

I told him it was my birthday and was out for a little meal to celebrate a little, not so much as a happy birthday nothing.Nope, could not care less so why try.Ohh well, whatever.

The pancake and fruit came and it was delicious. I enquired about my aphrodisiac milkshake as it never came and this was a good 20-25 mins later. Jonathan came and I asked what was up..it took longer than usual..I just asked for a milkshake but it felt like they had left to get the fresh milk at the farm for me..anyhow..he told me "we are flooded with orders, new you know" EXCUSES EXCUSES.... well, minutes later, it arrived after my main order. IT WAS DELICIOUS.

The food was delicious but the service was nothing like I was used to having with the Ladies that serve me there regularly. Although I spoke English he wanted to serve me in French at times which I found disrespectful.Making that effort annoyed him it seemed. He came back and asked the table next to me if they needed anything else as for me, I was ignored by him.I didn't get a glance or a smile or even "and you Sir, are you alright, need anything?"

Once I finished, the waiter came back, I was expecting "was it good? Would you like anything else like a coffee or you prefer the bill?" I got "Do you want the bill?" I see a difference there, the first one is open to follow the clients request and the second makes a person feel like they overstayed..I PAID AND LEFT.

The food was great and the waiter did serve me but I didn't like his waiter style at all. I wanted to eat and have a fun time out..I can only say that I did have a bite to eat..

I know a waiter is rushed for time on a Saturday but do try to care at least a little for the client in front of you, be friendly at least a little, he-she is paying after all.

I USUALLY leave a generous tip, 5-6 dollars at least..but this time, due to delays, lack of presence among other factors that ircked me, I left 3,90$ which was just enough tip for service only which is...

Discriminatory Service: On Monday, July 17 I ate at the Verdun location. When I arrived, I was on a long-distance phone call. Despite my being on the phone, the lady at the front seated me. After being seated and choosing what I was going to order, I told the person on the phone to wait so that I could put down my phone to signal to the waitress, Roseline, that I was ready to order. The waitress was speaking with the two people who were sitting beside me on my left who came inside the restaurant after me. After the waitress finished speaking with them, she started walking past me to a man who was sitting on my right who came inside the restaurant after me. So, I stopped the waitress to say that I was ready to order. The waitress gave me an attitude while saying I was on the phone and I told her that I had put my phone down once I was ready to order. I then asked to place my order. While waiting for my order, I continued my long-distance telephone conversation and shortly after my food arrived, my long-distance telephone call ended. It was very obvious that I was no longer on the phone while eating my food. However, the waitress continued to ignore me while checking in on the people on my left and the person on my right. Not once did she ask me if everything was OK; the waitress acted like I did not exist the whole time I was there. After I finished eating, I waited a long time to get my bill. I almost got up to ask another staff member for my bill. Eventually, the waitress saw that my plate was empty, and that I was just sitting there waiting. So, she came to my table and asked me if I wanted the bill while taking the dishes off of my table and I said yes. She took a long time to come back with my bill. So, I got up to sit on the other side of the table to make it easier for me to leave once I paid. After I paid, the waitress asked if I wanted a copy of the receipt and I said no and then she laughed while I got up to leave. Why did she laugh? The waitress' service was appalling. She treated me differently compared to the other customers; I saw how she interacted with the people on my left and the person on my right compared to how she interacted with me. I resorted to posting a Google review since they did not respond to my email, which made my experience with this restaurant worse. They clearly do not care...

The menu selection of this chain is phenomenal, but I will not be going back to this location. Our table of 3 watched people who came in after us get served, despite our menus being closed and ready to order. My food came significantly before my friends, but without the side of bacon I ordered. When it was brought to the server's attention, she said she heard me ask for bacon, but it doesn't come with my meal, so again I asked for my side of bacon, which I still never got (it was only when printing the bill that I was asked if anyone ever brought me the bacon). One of my friends plates came, but it was the wrong order and had to be sent back. Someone came and apologized for the delay, but when my friend tried voicing a frustration, she was met with a condescending tone that implied that an apology had been given, therefore she shouldn't have anything else to say. Given the delay, more attention could have at least been paid to our coffee cups. When the other 2 orders finally came, they were cold (butter on toast not even slightly melted, cold). I'm a tipper and believe tipping is important, but given the wait, mix-ups, disorganization, forgotten side and attitude from one of the servers, we decided as a table that we were not tipping today. When the server asked how everything was, she made a sour face when told the food was cold. When she saw there was no tip, the blame was shifted to us, that her job is to ensure we are satisfied and if we don't voice our complaints, how can she fix it? To which my reply was that she didn't bring my side when asked twice, she knew there was a mix up with the plates and how late they were served, so what more was there for us to say and given how long they waited, why would they want to wait any longer to get hot food?...and that after we received attitude from the other server for voicing a complaint, we clearly didn't feel the need to complain some more...we didn't enjoy our experience and that is...
