When our large party decided to dine out for a special occasion, we faced the challenge of finding a restaurant that could accommodate our vegan dietary preferences. While Street Monkeys is not specifically known for vegan options, from the moment we contacted them, it was clear we were in for an extraordinary experience.

Despite their regular menu being limited in vegan choices, the staff at Street Monkeys went above and beyond to create a completely vegan feast tailored to our needs. The communication from the outset was prompt, courteous, and genuinely enthusiastic. They took the time to understand our dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring that every dish would be both vegan and delicious.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and shown to a beautifully set table that accommodated our large group comfortably. The atmosphere was inviting, with a perfect blend of elegance and coziness. As each course arrived, we were consistently amazed by the creativity and attention to detail in every dish. Each bite was a testament to the chef’s skill and dedication to making plant-based cuisine shine.

Beyond the incredible food, what truly set Street Monkeys apart was the exceptional service. The staff was not only knowledgeable about vegan cuisine but also incredibly friendly and attentive. They checked in frequently to ensure everything was to our liking and were more than happy to accommodate any additional requests. Their genuine warmth and hospitality made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our dining experience.

For anyone seeking a restaurant that combines delicious food with outstanding service, Street Monkeys is an absolute must-visit. We left with full hearts and even fuller stomachs, already planning...

I had heard many great things about this place, as such I was quite eager to try it. I left quite disappointed, and wondered what I had missed that all others seemed to have enjoyed. First off, the good part, the food is absolutely delicious. The dishes are original, tasty and all around super enjoyable. Thats where the good ends. The portions are incredibly small, the waiter was keen on letting us know its more of a "share a ton of small dishes kinda place" but I just wish the prices aligned with that, paying 15$ for the smallest 3 chicken skewers I have ever seen made me question my choice. Same for the beef skewers, or the chicken wings. Once again, all amazingly delicious and super well presented, and the size wouldn't matter if priced accordingly, but man oh man was it expansive. Finally, I don't know if the server had just gotten the job, which might explain how he brought us the wrong drinks, gave them to the wrong people, didn't explain there were specials not listed on the menu, advised us that they were out of a dish when we tried ordering, to then have him tell us not once but twice again they were out of this or that when we tried to order them (it was a friday night at 6pm, and out of 3 well known dishes?) Might have been a one time fluke so and if the steep prices don't stop you, or the small sized plates and the uneven service, then it is very tasty and I get why people like the place. There won't be a return visit...

I am giving my experience at Les Street Monkeys 2 stars because the service was great but the food was the opposite of great. I am not sure if they have new kitchen staff, or if it was an off night but the papaya salad made me sick. Sick as in poisoned. Or at least I suspect it's the papaya salad because the fish sauce didn't taste like fish sauce. The waiter was sure to warn us that it was heavy on the fish sauce and I was game because I love the tangy, salty - umami - of fish sauce! The salad was not salty or tangy - it tasted simply of fish. Like canned tuna water. There was no acidity, no salty - just unedible. The sticky rice was like over boiled rice that they microwaved before serving - it for sure wasn't steamed. It was a soggy mess. The stuffed chicken wings were my favorite choice but there are only 3 on a plate. Beef skewers were ok. I enjoyed them but they are nothing to go back for. The red curry cod was tasty - nothing to go back for. We ordered 6 different plates to try and the only stand out dish was the one that's keeping me home from work today thanks to the food poisoning. The drinks were extremely easy on the alcohol - I like to taste the alcohol in my cocktail but didn't. If I didn't get sick from something off I would have tried this place again for brunch. Getting sick is a deal breaker for me. It's too bad because the waiter...

Fried Papaya Salad . Yes, you heard me correctly. I said Fried papaya salad. Never heard of such a thing? Only had that regular papaya salad? Well man are you missing out! . You’re not the only one. I too was missing out until I stumbled on Les Street Monkeys . A fantastic Cambodia style restaurant, doing traditional dishes with a twist all thanks to Chef Tota Oung I've always had fresh papaya salad dressed in a lime and fish sauce dressing with mixed vegetables topped with herbs and peanuts. This is the only place I know of in Montreal so far with a fried version. . Not only is it aesthetically pleasing to look at , but it also makes your taste buds sing. I mean, Papaya, carrots, long beans, cherry tomatoes mixed with a fresh lime vinaigrette with a hint of tamarind, fish sauce, fermented fish paste, dried shrimp topped with peanuts and chili pepper makes for a beautiful symphony. They’re not trying to reinvent the wheel, but simply put a twist and make it fantastic! My first visit left me wanting more. So I quickly gathered 6 friends and we ordered everything on there menu, twice 🤣. Man, this place didn’t miss a beat! Everything was on point. So do yourself a favor, grab an Uber, get in your car or take a walk down to 3625 Rue Wellington and let me know which of the many well thought out dishes did it for you!

One of the best restaurants I've been to. This Cambodian restaurant should be on everyone's list. It was a bit on the pricer side but the food justified it.My friend got the lamb chops ($30) were absolutely divine but I wish they added an extra piece as it wasn't as filling. The side 'mama's vegetable' ($5) was a crunchy sweet marinated vegetable side that could honestly be paired with anything. The chicken skewers ($9) were quite different but I couldn't justify the price for this one. The Bone marrow ($26) was so unique and the presentation was on point and was quite filling, it came with Bone Marrow soup on side as a palette cleanser, and a really small piece of bread to go with the marrow. The price for this was absolutely justified BUT they charged $4 extra for extra bread and I wasn't told about it. I would appreciate if I was told about it before ordering. Along with 2 drinks, the 2 rice bowls for $3 each, the rest of the dishes mentioned above, the bill was $101 including taxes. The taste is what will make me come back and the only thing that somewhat justifies the price, I do believe they could work a bit on the quantity though.

Les Street Monkeys is a unique Montreal experience and one of the few Cambodian restaurants in this city. I would highly recommend reserving before showing up as they have very limited seating and it fills up very fast. The restaurant itself has a very nice vibe to it, cool graffitis on the walls, very unique bathrooms and the music was older R&B which is always a plus! We ordered a few items on the menu, and everything was very good: Mom's imperial Rolls, the Kroeung Chicken Skewers, the Lemongrass Beef Skewers, the stuffed chicken wings and sticky rice. The food was tasty, fresh and the seasoning was out of this world. My only issue with this place was how slow the service was. I was expecting our food to be served almost all at once. Unfortunately, we were served one plate at a time. We had time to finish the plate and wait a good 10-15 minutes for the next one. I really hope they've perfected that aspect because over all, everything was excellent!! I also highly recommend trying one of their drinks, we got the Yuzu Snooze Yuzu Lose and the 2nd base on the street, both DELICIOUS and extremely refreshing!
