Mamie Clafoutis is one of my favorite bakeries in Montreal, I went once a week for take out and dine in. Their Staffs always offer friendly served which make you feel welcome home.
However this Sunday Dec 10 a BAD customer service experience tainted the afternoon. I was at Île des Soeurs branch. I ordered my coffee and patisseries that I’ve been ordering for years and this time I asked for some Soya milk, she(staffs) had a great attitude and was happily going to take care of my needs. But just about then, a cashier name Olivier who had been observing, stepped in. He said to me in a very embarrassing tone “ You have to pay for it” “Give me the bill I will need to correct the transaction by refund you and then charge you for the Soya milk.” I never knew I have to pay for soya milk, I felt very embarrassed. I could tell how uncomfortable the girl staff was at the interaction. She wanted to satisfy the customers, but a cashier had taken over, and he was blowing it. Read more5 STAR AMAZING BAKERY / 2 STAR COFFEE. The best pastries and bread you can ever get in the area, but the coffees are the worst. I just think it might be easier for them to get a Nespresso machine and let that handle everything. I visit them couple of times in a month since they are close to my apartment, but never ever get a coffee from them. but their pastries are amazing I loooveee them. It happened to me several times that I ordered my susual latte and it tastes burnt and it is super hot. So hot that I can’t even hold my cup. this is not a latte’s temperature, I feel like I ordered black coffee, that’s how hot their latte is. in conclusion, never ever get any coffee from them. but their pastries are the best and the most delicious one I can say is the Oh mon dieu and olive bread. OMG I love them. I’ll add photos next time I get...
Read moreVery mediocre establishment... A few nice pastries but the majority are over priced, undercooked and done without any care. Displays are dirty with streaks all over the glass. Sandwiches are overpriced and under filled. If you don't want to leave the island it's not a bad place but if you've ever been to a great bakery you'll be left feeling like you should have gone somewhere else. For the management.... A little TLC would you do a wonder of difference. Led light strips could be well glued instead of falling over the pastries. making sure the glass is clean and pastry stations look clean and filled. using a real table and not a plastic flip up one for the sugar, napkins, etc... Using nice recipients... having staff ask people if they need help and any new additions for the week. Hope this is taken in good...
