Came to visit for the first time based on the brunch reviews and left both hungry and disappointed. For a Sunday brunch the place was lightly packed and overall not busy. The wait time to be seated was acceptable with the amount of available tables it makes it feel more like a pick and choose rather than a wait and be seated.
We ordered two drinks (only received one) within the 1 hour we waited to receive our meals (which we ended up not getting). The waitress only came by once to take our order and then disappeared with no follow up service except the busboy who noticed we didn't get offered water and brough a water jug after noticing the table next to us (who sat themselves after us and somehow got their order taken surprisingly quick) had theirs.
While waiting, near the 45 minute mark, we overheard the waitress mention to another table that there was something with the ticket system (this was the same table that came after us) and that they are now fixing the issue. We where not informed or even approached at any given time and offered an explanation.
We waited 1 hour after placing our food order and proceeded to pay for the 1 and only coffee we received and left.
This is normally where we would just call it a day but the cashier came running out demanding we pay for the rest of the order we never received or was delivered in the time we waited.
when informed we had not received anything in the hour wait but the coffee she proceeded to COMPLAIN in a CONDECENDING tone that she would need to cancel the food order then. She then proceeded to turn around leaving without apologizing for the experience or wait time.
Overall, I could not recommend this restaurant to anyone who values good service and who plan on eating there in the near future. Hopefully this is the exception and the cashier with the service staff will get the proper training on customer satisfaction going forward. Until then the experience was so poor it made me take the time to...
Read moreFirst of all Great place. I will explain why I took 1 star away.
GREAT PLACE: So happy that finally a great breakfast place opened in Ville Emard, it has been long due and needed. The atmosphere, decoration and location is amazing(also seems like they are going to build a terrace outside, maybe not sure)
THINGS TO IMPROVE: we ordered the breakfast sandwich and the classic breakfast plate . I have to say that the bread they use was really really good , the ingredients as well however, if I am being honest and to make a small comparison with the other places within the same area and value , it seemed that the plate was missing an important element= Fruits.
Pretty much every breakfast place now days include few fruit slices 🍍 🍉 🍊 in a breakfast plate.
Potatoes were bit on the cold side, but then again they are short on staff since they just opened.
Lastly , I think the filter coffee( just the filter coffee) should be at least included with the breakfast plates, again something that most restaurants offer.
Few things that could improve not related to food:
Music was bit loud, was hard to actually speak with the person infront of me. ( Maybe switch genre of music between breakfast time and later on)
Table missing the normal stuff: salt&pepper , sugar(when we asked ,they bring you exactly the amount of sugar packets you need) again maybe they are short on it , since they just opened
Anyhow these are things that could definitely be improved later on once they are fully staffed and go over the menu items . I was debating since I wanna encourage new business in the area and don't want to leave bad review , but I feel places only improve with valued critiques.
My take is: you should definitely go and try it at least once , especially if you live in the area to support our local businesses. The food and ambiance would leave you very...
Read moreAs someone who lives in the neighborhood and has been a regular customer of this cafe, I’ve always appreciated its convenience and the generally friendly service. I’m currently on maternity leave and stop by at least once a week, either with a friend or a family member. It’s been a small but enjoyable part of my weekly routine, until recently.
The last time I was walking by with my stroller, I stopped to ask the short brown-haired waitress outside if I could quickly order a coffee to go. Before I could even finish my sentence, she cut me off and told me she was too busy, and that I’d have to come inside with the stroller if I wanted anything. Her tone was dismissive, and the interaction felt unnecessarily cold.
What’s frustrating is that I’ve never had an issue like this with any of the other staff members. Everyone else has always been incredibly warm, accommodating, and kind. Unfortunately, this particular waitress consistently lacks the same level of courtesy, and it stands out, especially in a place that’s supposed to feel welcoming to locals.
I understand how difficult it can be to find and retain good staff, especially these days. But for a neighborhood cafe that likely depends on repeat customers like myself, I would expect a little more kindness and flexibility, especially toward a regular juggling a baby and a stroller.
This experience has genuinely made me reconsider whether I want to keep supporting this spot. A bit of empathy goes a long way, and it’s a shame when...
