The food itself tastes great. That's why we've become regular clients (like, 2 times a months for years).
Having said that, we won't be ordering anymore because of poor customer relations.
We always order the exact same thing and in just the last year alone, they've made mistakes on our order 3-4 times. They aren't mistakes where we can just eat it. We don't eat chicken or beef at all and the mistakes are that these are in our dishes. We always reiterate when making the order we don't eat meat or chicken. When my husband calls they do believe they gave it to us with just the veggies but there's chicken in it. So they did write "no chicken" on the order but still it's a common error. We're always super polite and understanding and we don't make any complaints. We just go and exchange it or if it was delivered we wait for them to come exchange it.
I myself worked in the restaurant industry for two decades. Whenever an order had a mistake that was our fault, it was normally comped or we would offer something as an apology. A dessert, drinks, something.
Despite the fact that even though this is a mistake that is regularly made by them, not once did they offer anything to apologize. We are the one that gets inconvenienced and loses our each time.
*This isn't about getting something for free. It's the principle. When you are a family, we have young children, we order and wait and once we either pick up or have the food delivered, you sit down and eat and realize you can't eat some of the food, someone has to get up and go back to exchange it and this is easily a 30-45mins thing. When they get back, the food is cold and everyone is annoyed and hungry. It ruins the vibe of having takeout as a family.
Chez pings was pretty much the only thing we ever order out. We normally cook all the time. It's unfortunate to have to decide not to order from them anymore since it's a gamble whether or not we'll get to eat together, if it'll be the right order. The reason I mention the customer relations is because if the restaurant even remotely showed us they felt bad for inconveniencing us, we might feel differently about it. But they don't. We've taken the brunt each time.
Customers come back to restaurants for years for the food, yes, but also, for proper...
Read moreFood used to be better and portions larger but it's still good Chinese takeout. However the service, delivery in particular, is awful
Usually I would pick it up myself (10 min drive), but lately they seem to not care or be completely disorganized. I ask how much time they need and arrive there a bit "late", and still routinely have to wait 15 to 20 additional minutes.
Ordering delivery often results in waiting for 30+ min more than their 45 min delivery. The restaurant is a 10 min drive away, but the food is usually still hot or warm. How?
Never use their site. It was weird from the get go as you do not receive a confirmation order, only a page that says order complete, with the order time mistakenly called "delivery time".
Not sure if the online order makes it worse with their already bad delivery but this last time it took 1h45 for the driver to start banging on the door before calling as asked on the note, although who knows if they actually communicate any of the client request to the actual driver.
I would not recommend eating in. Ironically, they are basically a delivery/take out place. There are maybe 3-4 tables, one of which is always taken by staff and what I assume are their kids and family. No problem with that and it's actually wholesome as a family business. Just saying it's not really and restaurant rather than a takeout with a couple of tables. The rest is very cramped, people are often coming in and out for takeout, and you will smell like fried oil after a couple of minutes only (even if just picking up).
If you order from them via Skip or similar though, the delivery seems more consistent and at least you can see a confirmation order and an ETA, but not sure if it's worth the extra cost.
Saddest part is they have a good score from when it was good and I'd bet they have good enough business from services like skip to not care about any complaint. Not sure why they keep their own completely unacceptable and 0 accountability delivery...
Read moreI highly recommend Chez Ping.Everything I ordered through delivery was excellent. I am a noodle dish lover ! I loved the Shanghai noodles(my favorite) the Cantonese Chow mein and the rice noodles .The chef followed my notes as requested I have a sensitive stomach ,so I cannot eat foods with alot of Msg,spice and also no shrimp nor pork. I am going to order again ( very shortly), all three of the noodle dishes.Maybe order 2 Shanghai noodles ! I also recommend the General Tao chicken- I could not have enough of this chicken ! The Sesame beef was good but the General Tao was superior ! I please ask the restaurant if they could further detail what ingredients are included ,so instead of writing no shrimp if included the customer can write please no shrimp, for example. I also enjoyed the vegetable spring rolls which was two for one ! The chicken wings were good, but I usually prefer wings which have more breading !This was also two for one thank you ! My least favorite was the fried chicken dumplings. I love chicken but the dumplings dough did not mix well with the chicken,in my opinion ! I ordered very late in the evening (sorry ) so the order came later than suggested ! Maybe this was due to the lateness of my order,or the distance from my home to the restaurant ,or probably even my particular requests such as no Msg and not spicy etc. Be prepared to wait longer than stated . However, the food arrived hot and very fresh !!! Thank you...
