Location: Ville St. Laurent - no issues with parking, as they've got a parking lot.
The place: Great decor and vibe - it's got an urban and somewhat hipster feel to it. Hipsters. They're everywhere. Music gets a little loud closer to 7pm though, so expect to talk loudly to your dinner date(s). It's not huge restaurant by any means, so I'd say it probably gets packed around 7pm, on Thursday-Saturday nights.
The goods: I decided to build my own burger because, well, I'm picky. I added lettuce, caramelized onions, bacon and avocado sauce. The meat was cooked perfectly (medium) and they were pretty darn generous with that bacon (which was delicious, by the way). The caramelized onions were cold, which I found unusual - I've always been served these when they were hot.... the avocado sauce sound good on paper but was underwhelming. The bun was light and pretty great. I also ordered fries that came out crispy and in a serving size worthy of four people. Way too many patates for one person! That said, the fries had no seasoning and there were no salt shakers on the table - they definitely could have used some flavor. I also ordered one of the cocktails (Heavenly Pink something or other) and it was pretty good for a burger joint!
Service: Great - we were attended to the entire time we were there - our water glasses were kept full and wait staff checked in on us, on the regular.
Price point: The total was about $25...
Read moreWent to N-B-d-G, party of 5 on the terrace. Excellent service from our waiter (sorry, didn't catch his name, maybe late 30s, bald, 5"8, sweet guy). We were quickly greeted upon arriving on the terrace, drink orders were promptly taken, idem for the meals, and this followed with fun commentary like "Why not?", "Great choice", "That's going to be good!". Water was always topped off from the waiter and other staff members. Our waiter kindly asked us to pay the bills at the end of his shift (normal in restaurants, having been a waitress myself). Even after he left, we were taken care of in the afternoon by staff filling out water glasses. The food was excellent; I had the Biblical Brie with sweet potato fries. Burger was a bit drier than usual, but delicious nonetheless! My only comment (and this is not against the resto), but the terrace music from next door was obnoxiously loud. At one point, the music turned off and there were "ahhhhhs" of relief at the short period of relief from the pounding music, but it came back again. Overall, great experience. I'll be...
Read moreTLDR: high quality food, great cocktail selection, trendy. Best in the area.
Best way to describe this place is quality food. The staff is very friendly and never rude. By far one of the best burger places in town. It seems to still be a bit of a hidden gem for now but it is slowly becoming more known. The decor showing off the whole city of Montreal is a great touch. The only clear improvement I see is adding on to their beer selection, as it's quite small. However, they more than make up for it for their creative cocktails that taste great. This place is the go to whenever I want to grab a burger with friends as we've gone multiple times and have never been disappointed. Can't recommend this place enough, better than any restaurant in the area, and easily one of the best in the city. Go. You won't regret it.
Edit: After all the times I've been, I've never updated my review, and I've never mentioned the consistency of the food here. Try to get there early for lunch because this place gets packed up quick. Whatever you order you'll never be...
