Located on the far north end of Boulevard Saint Jean in the Montreal West Island District, towards the far and near Pierrefonds Boulevard in the little sort of horseshoe strip mall shopping area but the landmark of the TD Bank drive-thru at the other end, Peking Gardens has been a Mainstay of restaurants in the West Island for a very long time. With a decent menu and old school classy Chinese service, it's always a decent dining experience! The prices are more than fine and the qualities always good and you always get a pot of tea... Or at least I do :-) one of my all-time favorites is the steamed vegetable dumplings in the giant size bamboo steaming basket and their wonderful peanut sauce. It's so good that they even sell the stuff. I just thoughts that is :-) easy recommend for good service for good food with a large choice and decent prices and no disappointments. You can't bring your own wine but you can certainly have an easy-going time with everything you need in the restaurant and in a Chinese restaurant version 2. I'm pleased to see the switch from disposable destroy the environment pre-packaged bamboo chopsticks to the washable plastic chopsticks. So something's up for a little bit of the environmental change and benefits. They've got a big menu and they make good food can't go wrong. It's not high and exquisite dining it's simply real good eating at a decent price with decent old school service in a big place then very often can be completely full on a Friday or Saturday evening and sometimes other times as well. Definitely a thumbs up! And definitely the steamed vegetable dumplings with a peanut sauce is...
Read moreI rated this place quite severely last time .. they must have been having a bad day because on two subsequent visits everything was pleasant and efficient.. i did not try anything else so far other than classic "chinese american " dishes... it was all up to par.. the rice.. the ribs ..the general tao etc etc.. ..
As a follow up. I ordered on Father's day June 19th 2022.. Cantonese combo ($38) and the general Tao ($19) .. the combo was very good....
unfortunately the general Tao was undercooked .. it was lukewarm , but more importantly, in a negative way, it was soft and mushy... I called the restaurant and they apologized and put in my file, a free general Tao for my next order..
it being a Holliday Sunday I can easily see this type of thing happening... I congratulate them for rectifying the issue in a prompt and pleasant manner.. this is 10 on 10 for customer service In my books..
This will continue being my take out chinese...
Read moreMy family and I have been going there for years and we enjoy it every time. They have a wide variety of dishes for every category: seafood, chicken, beef, porc, vegetarian. You're bound to find something for everyone! We've always enjoyed our meals there. The entrees are fantastic. We often order the vegetable dumplings (which come with an addicting peanut butter sauce) and almost always order the hot&sour soup and they're so good!! We also had the corn & crab soup this time and really enjoyed it. Oh, and definitely take the kan shao shrimp. The flavour is delicious!
The prices average around 14$ a plate, but they're meant to be shared.
The restaurant itself is spacious and they recently cleaned it up so it's quite cozy! The staff is also nice and we always enjoy being greeted by Michael!
I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a good...
