Terrible quality and worse service.

Overall - this was an EXPERIENCE. DO NOT eat here. I've never actually ranted about how terrible a restaurant could be but there is a first time for everything.

My housemate had ordered a chicken & shrimp dish with vermicelli noodles. Aside from the portion of chicken being pretty much unnoticeable, the dish was off. It smelled wrong and it was just not right.

We politely asked if they could take it back or switch it out for the soup, which seemed okay (aside from the fact that the lid wasn't properly put back on the hoisin sauce so that and a pool of sauce exploded into my soup). The waitress 'went to speak with the manager' about my roommates dish.

She came back and rudely said its too bad, we had to pay for it, "people like it".

Honestly, the chicken looked more like a dead rat, and provided approximately the same amount of meat.

They refused to comp or replace the dish which we had now asked multiple times and tried to find some type of solution. This restaurant did not want to make this situation right.

It was inedible and we decided the best thing to do was to pay and leave. My girlfriend and I paid for our soups and rolls. My roommate on principal said he would pay for the roll, and not the abomination that was his dish. THIS proceeded to a phone call with the 'manager' that held us up for literally 15 minutes at the cash (I stayed because I could not believe what was going on), and they went so far as to threaten him with the police.

From the cash you can also see into the kitchen. The part that made my stomach churn was seeing the bin of meat sitting open on the counter for the entirety of our payment experience. There is no remote chance that this kitchen follows food safety standards.

None of us had ever 'walked out' at a restaurant before, and I'm not sure I agree with that etiquette, but all I can say is DO NOT GO HERE.

I hope this helps someone else from making the same mistake.

Will...

If I could give zero stars, I would. The pho was decent, but the rest of the food we saw and the service were absolute garbage. My friend ordered a chicken and shrimp sauté, which had only 3 minuscule shrimps that didn't taste fresh, barely a third of a chopped up chicken breast and a tiny portion of noodles. Basically 70% of that plate was filled with some sort of a 'frozen vegetable mix'. Which makes NO SENSE for a 15$ plate. We notified the staff within minutes that something was wrong with the taste, that it didn't seem right and asked if it could be swapped for a soup instead. They argued that they would not switch it and that he would have to pay for the plate no matter what. My friend took literally less than two bites of the plate and even offered to pay for a soup if they agreed to replace the meal but they flat out refused. We payed for the soups we got, but refused to pay for the horrible meal, so they made us argue with the manager OVER THE PHONE, who basically accused us of trying to get a free meal... Oh and during the whole time we were arguing with the manager (about 30min) there was an OPEN BUCKET OF RAW MEAT, just sitting on a kitchen counter, which is INSANELY UNSANITARY. PS: there was NO TOILET PAPER and NO PAPER TOWELS in the woman's bathroom - good thing I...

Will never eat here again. Here's why... Ordered a plate with grilled pork, grilled beef and rice. From the moment the plate was put down in front of me, someting smelled rotten. It was the beef, the beef was very past date. I was hungry and it was late, so i took the beef out of my plate and ate what i deemed to be edible. Server came by, i told her the beef i was served was rancid, she did not seem to understand, and took off minus the rancid beef. I go to pay, i tell the gentleman at the cash that i was served rancid beef. blank stare. I repeat the same thing in french...blank stare. I asked him if there was anyone here who spoke either french or english. A woman comes out of the kitchen, she converses with the man for 5 minutes, the woman tells me that she will give me 50% off my next visit!? Ok, like i will ever come back to a restaurant that served me rancid beef, i told them they might want reduce the price of my dish seeing as how a portion of it was rancid. They babbled on for a few minutes, they seemed very reluctant to give me any sort of discount. So i paid FULL price and left. With all the great restaurants in Verdun, don't even bother...

Nice BYOW Vietnamese restaurant with delicious pho and reasonable prices. Ambiance in the restaurant is a bit old school, but the service was friendly. They have different pho options (with chicken, vegetables, shrimp, etc.) but I always like to stick to the original beef. For beef pho you can either get it simply with thinly sliced steak or the “all dressed” for extra 1.25$. The all dressed features meatballs, tripes, tendons, rare beef and fatty braised pieces of beef, and it’s hearty and delicious! I personally enjoy all the fatty and gelatinous parts in pho and they served lots of that in the “all dressed” pho. The broth is very aromatic and comforting. Only minor downside is that they serve the pho with a side of cilantro and bean sprouts without basil. They have two pho sizes: L and XL, which are rather comparable to medium and large of other pho restaurants in Montreal. Prices are very affordable and dishes are filling. Overall, it was a nice experience and I definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves pho.

We went there looking for a good Pho. As the name of the restaurant is Pho Back , we expected to be at the right place to enjoy a good one. I wouldn't say it was bad or disappointing. But clearly frustrating : the 'Large' bowl size is not a real large, clearly more a medium size compared to other Vietnamese Pho restaurant. Adding to this, we order 'Special' Pho so comes a longs with extra beef and beef balls. It turn out that you will pay extra $2 dollar but in fact it's just 1 small beef ball cup in to 4 tiny pieces.... 😒 Ingredients are poorly given, just few small pieces of meet, felt like just eating noodles and soup.... frustrating. If you're looking for a good Pho, not the place.
