A Chic Indian Dining Experience in Montreal's Village

Tucked into the heart of Montreal’s Village, this recently renovated Indian restaurant is a stylish new gem. With its elegant decor and chic ambiance, it redefines what we expect from a classic Indian dining experience — blending modern sophistication with rich culinary tradition.

From the moment we stepped in, the service stood out as impeccable: warm, attentive, and professional without being overbearing. It set the tone for a delightful evening.

The food itself was delicious — a true celebration of Indian cuisine. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, bursting with the deep, layered flavors you'd expect from authentic recipes. While we personally would have preferred a bit more heat in the spice level, we understand this was a deliberate choice by the restaurant. By offering a milder profile, they make the menu more accessible to a wider audience, including those less accustomed to the bold spice that Indian food can offer — all without compromising the integrity of the dishes.

Whether you’re a long-time lover of Indian cuisine or just beginning to explore its depth, this spot delivers a refined experience that feels both familiar and fresh.

Terrible food! Unprofessional servers!

If I could give negative I would have. The restaurant servers are aged, rude and unprofessional bangladeshi men. We were asked to sit on table with soiled plates from the previous customers, on repeated requests (precisely 5 times) it was removed. While waiting for the clean up and the menu we turned sckeptical about the food( and we were so right..DRY and TASTELESS) seeing the dishes served around and ordered really minimal. They served us after 45mins and on our repeated inquiries about the food the server said that he thought we are not hungry hence he has not served us. Lastly to make our experience from terrible to worse he forced us to tip him. When my husband refused stating that we are neither happy with the food or the service. He said that since you have finished whatever you have ordered ( we just ordered 2 naan n dalh for 2 of us) its mandatory to tip in montreal. Really!!! I think thats they way the try to fool tourists like us. We left without tipping them and he started cursing us in french( of whatever little we know we could get few words). They spoiled our last meal...

Good NEW owner, should lISTEN more to guests. All is GREAT. New ownership, and no more BYOB. Noticed a few changes on the menu and presentation of dishes. At least the old waiters throuhing food around and being very unwelcoming are gone. Poor internet quality. 4 times more expensive than in Little India, so I will probably go on Jean-Talon west next time for Indian food. They did up their game!

I was so ready to be disappointed, as last time, a couple years ago, was a rather bad experience.

I do agree with some of the reviews that mention dry chicken (breast) and not that tasty korma prep. To be honest it does deliver on what the menu says...not hot, mostly mild dish. The naan bread was top notch, as was the rice. As a nice surprise the fruit salad dessert was fresh and served with the meal. They should mention it. Mujtahid the waiter was attentive, precise and fast!

The price is good in my opinion considering the central location in the Village AND it is a BYOB. Actually looking forward to go...

*The worst experience I ever had in my entire life.* As the food was really bad and not at all satisfying, we were expecting atleast a sorry. But as soon as we complained the waiter started bossing around as he doesn't care about the complaints and don't care about anything at all. And he even said us that 'we needed to tip them' and when we asked about what satisfaction should we tip them, he said : "you people are sh!t". He claimed that the biriyani is Bangladesh style and I can't understand the point of advertising it as an Indian restaurant. The photo I add here is an Onion Kulcha I ordered from this place. As the chef's are so lazy to stuff it with sauteed onions, they just gave me a onion topped naan, and when I questioned they started teaching me about kulcha, as in like I have never eaten an onion kulcha before. And to the main server (around 30-45 years old) Please don't argue and call people rude words when you can't even provide a basic quality food. Atleast you are elder and can atleast behave like an educated man. ***please never ever try this restaurant ***

I ordered through skip the dishes. Overall is was okay.I got the chana masala, tadka dahl, veggie bhaji, and onion kulcha. I am a bit confused by the vegetable bhaji since bhaji means fritters yet instead it was just a mix of cooked veggies. the dhal was very yummy, best dish. the chana had more masala than chana, portion could have been better. The biggest issue was the onion kulcha, as you see in the photo is it complete flat, not fluffy at all, it was not real naan, no yeast. I've had better food at other places for a cheaper price. Sorry! Please note the photos are part way through the meal.
