Toro Rosso — Restaurant in Montreal

May 15/24 Another bar/restaurant owner above the law installing is effing patio pas 7pm. NO respect for the locals. Why would anyone spend money there. Super bad wateir still there. A good thing that many excellent restraurants all around. October 29th Still horrible ugly rude waiter. Sorry for the owner.

September 13 SERGE the worst waiter in Montréal managing Toro Rosso. Rather have an empty patio than good trade. Should not work in hospitality, period. I just asked if I could have a desert and HE hung up the phone. That is how rude this person is. Been here way before that restaurant changed name and so on.

AND on Mondays. Not dealing with that. September 3rd 2023.

Avoid this place on Sundays. If you want to be served by the worst waiter in the city, that's the place to go. If you seen an Old Bald angry man, yelling at customer that is the place you want to go. I was served the worst ever looking chocolate cake, it came in different pieces, his excuse was that it was the last bit of it available and expected to pay 7$ from that horrible waiter. Earlier today I went for breafast at Maggie Oakes at the Willan Gray, then went for bruch at Bistro Tendresse. Wonderful food and service. Then I went for a final outing for the day before going out again tomorrow as a tour guide. That ugly bald man yelling a me was the last straw. He should be fired on the spot. Why would anyone pay 7$ for a left over chocolate cake served with no love and looking so sad? The WIFI is not working so I asked to reset to no avail. The guy is a total moron, his excuse: he was the only waiter. Dont get me wrong I LOVE the restaurant, the food is great and get along with all the other waiter. The food is always great and homemade. CALL before. Actual opening hours are VERY different from advertised. Again tonight, they have been SO busy with a group, bla bla bla...All I wanted is a Black Forest desert (wich was a dry last time) and a double café brésilen. How hard is that, missing an EASY $40...But they...

Went there for a date-night. I ordered a bruschetta there, it came out literally after 5 mins after, which is not a good sign because i could tell that the vegetables were not fresh/prepared on the spot, and that they were precut and refrigerated, perhaps that morning or the day before. the bread was sliced of crispy baguette, that was so crunchy it breaks easily (not a good thing). I then ordered the pesto pasta with extra chicken, and oh god… the sauce was basically made of some kind of oil (definitely not authentic/virgin olive oil) and herbs, no pine-nuts in sight (pesto is supposed to be bright green with a velvety texture and a buttery finish). Plus the pasta was overcooked, not “aldente” as it should be. Unfortunately, the chicken was not better either, it tasted bland like a boiled chicken seasoned with just salt. Now, I understand the prices are considered cheap, but this is way worse than any other “cheap” italian restaurants i have personally tried. The quality of ingredients to the price ratio is definitely not equal. Not worth it. Better off cooking at home. * ALSO, the waiter asked us if we didn’t like the food, and i expressed my opinion, and he didn’t even apologize! or offer any discount or complementary dessert. First of all, sitting here and reading some of the bad reviews, do not at all sound like the same restaurant that we went to for our dinner. Plus, some of them are from four and/or seven years ago. I am not sure if this restaurant is under new management. Either way, in my opinion, it's Irrelevant! We all usually have different experiences.

We had an AMAZING experience here! From the second we walked in, we were welcomed by our Server. Also, i need to metion thst even the Chef noticed us and said hello. The staff was absolutely amazing. Very attentive, and friendly. They spoke perfect English, which was a huge plus for us. Overall, the service was excellent! I had the Smoked Salmon salad, that was very delicious and very large. I actually had to finish it, even though I was full enough. My Husband ordered the Seafood Pizza. He LOVED it! I had a slice and OMG! SO GOOD!

The prices are very reasonable here for the quality of the food.

This Italian Restaurant is Gorgeous inside. So Romantic. Beautiful colors. Of course, you can't leave an Italian Restaurant without ending the night with a Tiramisu ♡ DELICIOUS! FRESH!
